My DVR, up until a couple of months ago, would record 2 shows at the same time. I accidentally initialized it one day when I was looking at the settings. My finger slipped. Since then, it looks like it's recording 2, but afterwards, one recorded and the other it'll say, "Time Length 0:00." Can anyone tell me how to get it to work right again??!!

SOURCE: dvd/vcr recorder stops recording

DVD-RAM itself, and DVD-R formatted in "VR" mode are SUPPOSED to allow for recording "ONE TIME" per DRMA. The broadcasters are probably sending the wrong copy protection signal if the -RAM & -R/VRmode are stopping.
At least, that is my understanding.

SOURCE: Dish Network DVR 625 Problem with playback of recorded shows

It sounds as though the hard drive is about to go south on you soon and the receiver is going to need to be replaced however, in the interim you can change the options of the recordings and make it a default so that the recording continues past the end of the show. It is possible that extending this time will allow you to view the portion you want before it skips to the end. In order to do this press the guide button and select a program in the future. On the create timer screen select the option icon. You will now be at the timer options screen you can extend the time the recording will last after the end of the show and when it will begin recording prior to the show. I would also set this as your systems default so that it performs the same way regardless of what you are recording. According to the latest known receiver issues this is not identified as it is a common indication that the hard drive has an error internally. If this works I suggest that you have a replacement sent to you so that you do not lose the use of your DVR un-expectantly.Remember to watch all recorded events prior to replacement as you will lose that info when the receiver is swapped. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

SOURCE: Unable to record show on the DVR

Try a hard reboot. Hold the power button on the box till it turns itself off. It will turn itself back on. After restarting try to record live tv. If you can't watch recorded shows either your harddrive may be fried. After thought, a $20 tv tuner card from e-bay for your computer, you could record them to your desktop.

SOURCE: Stiletto 2 deletes recordings

I'm a relatively new subscriber, only having my stiletto2 for 3 months. It just started "not recording" and "deleting my recordings". In researching, I came to this thread. Since no one really seems to have posted a real solution here, I'll share what I've found elsewhere.

1.) Check to make sure your SL2 has the latest software (ZAP). To find out what version you have, navigate to Settings >> Device >> Device Info. If your software is not up-to-date simply connect your radio to Internet Radio for about an hour and it will be downloaded. You will get a notice on your screen when the update is complete.
2.) Perform a Full Shutdown of your SL2 at least once a month by holding the power button down for 10 seconds. If you do a lot of recordings it's advised to perform a shutdown weekly or more for best results. This will flush the system, clean up and remove old and expired recordings/replays and reduce general screen lag. For some this simple step has eliminated missing recordings all together.
3.) Do not use your SL2 as an archive device and try to avoid using your internal memory over 50% for the time being. If you do a lot of recordings it's also advised to disable Radio Replays.

If 1-2-3 don't work, try 4
4) Set and Erase
4a. go into your Settings Menu>>Device>>Reset & Erase.
4b. As soon as you complete the process (Reset & Erase) and have rebooted, you will need to connect to Wi-Fi again to again download the baseband update. Let it run for at least 30 minutes to ensure that it is able to get the entire update. Then tune to Satellite Radio it SHOULD complete the baseband update.
4c. You should see the Updating SIRIUS message for about 7 minutes. If it's only up for a minute or two, then it may bet hat the update failed again. You can check the Service Info screen to be sure.
4d. If you then shutdown your SL2 (by holding down the power switch for 5 seconds) then turn it back on, it should complete the baseband update process.

Why dose recording in dvr goes on default date when light goes

Well, I'm trying to decipher this. Why does the recording in DVR revert to the default (date/time???) when the light goes off and comes back on.

I'm guessing you are trying to say time, not date, maybe day?

The DVR is trying to remember when a show comes on and record it, based on your settings. Usually shows come on at a specific time. DVRs usually update their scheduled recordings based on updated programming guide information. If you are constantly unplugging or causing your receiver to otherwise restart, most receivers will download an updated guide upon getting power back or restarting (DVRs themselves not having any idea how long they've been without power, download a new guide just in case after you unplugged them you moved to Arizona). During this time, the recording you set is showing the original time you set it up, because until the guide is downloaded, it has no idea that its wrong.

My best advice, even if I'm wrong about our language barrier here, stop unplugging your receiver. Leave it plugged in and powered at all times.

All times.

For ever.

Bunker hill 67139 dvr hard drive wrong year 2058

The issue may be is that you have a DVD in your dvr , that still shoes that date and time. Just a possibility, not sure,. try to see if you can take DVD out of dvr, and use a new one. I happened to me but, the case was a vcr,and I had a recorded video tape which while playing , was showing a blue screen, with "no data received" which actually it was when no data vcr was receiving from cable at the time it was recording . If the problem still is not solved then there is issue with some circuits, and processors. Also you may want to check if Bunker Hill has any customer support, to check with them.

For the past couple of days, every show our DVR has recorded freezes a couple of minutes into playing it and the DVR reboots itself. This always occurs at the exact same time on that show. We don't have...

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. Since the DVR is the only thing having the freezing issue, it sounds like it maybe a hard drive issue. I would recommend resetting the receiver. Unplug it from the power supply for 10 seconds and then let the receiver reboot itself. If you are still having this issue, I would recommend calling Dish Network and we will need to replace the receiver. Hard Drive issues do not resolve themselves and only get worse over time. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Panasonic DVR, loss of TV Guide on-screen program listings

Hi,

I had the TVGUIDE listing through my GE TV and it came across with a notice that they would no longer be putting out the listings. That was last year and the listing never showed up again. Your DVR may be recording digitally but if you can see it on a analog tv, it is using a analog turner and you will need a converter box to record once everything goes digital.

Most of the digital converter boxes come with a guide built in. I have the Magnavox and the Zenith and they work fine. You will need two converter boxes, one for the DVR and one for the tv, if you want to watch the tv and record a different show at the same time.

I would hook them up by splitting the antenna wire to the tv and the DVR. Then I would use the RCA plugs to connect the DVR to the TV and use the Input setting on the TV when I want to watch the DVR. You will have to set the converter box to the channel that is playing the program you want. The DVR will be set to channel 3 or 4 (whatever channel the converter box is set on to broadcast on) to record on, not the broadcast channel. Make sure the power saver on the converter box is set to off or the converter box will turn off after a couple hours and you will get no picture for the dvr to record on.

The digital signal is being sent over the air usually over UHF channels. It sent digitally but will be picked up by your antenna in the same way it picks up the analog signal thus there is no difference. There is no such thing as a digital antenna, thus a antenna from a Home Depot will work fine. I needed a outdoor antenna but the picture quality is the same as cable. Just make sure the antenna can pick up UHF and VHF signals.

Hope it helps!

Dish DVR problems

if the show that you are recording is also skipping on live tv, then it could be 2 things. it could either be a broadcasting issue (which the broadcasting center at dish network would have to correct on their end) or 2. it could be that your dish needs realigned. also if you purchased the dish dvr through dish network their models are quite often refurbished where they fix old models and send them back out. (most satellite companies do this) contact dish network and let them know you are having a problem, they may replace your dvr and if you have a protection plan they will often replace it for free.

Hard drive shows full even after erasing 120 hours.

You should empty the recycled bin in the system and delete all temporary files on it.

My DVR-625, wont even turn on.

at the time the hard drive problem came up the receiver would of went into recovery mode this can take a good hour for it to fix and can do nothing until it would finish on its own and take care of. Doing the power reset is just like unpluging the receiver. Try unpluging again for 30 minutes and plug back in again and just wait receiver should come back on its own. Don't hit any buttons. If not will have to send out to dish for repair. 800-333-3474 dish
