With absolutely no details about your Hotel internet connection, here is all i can do to help:
1. Start your PS3, and connect to the WiFi using the automatic settings.
2. If your internet still doesn't work (which i guess is the problem you are trying to describe) then open your internet browser on the PS3. Most likely your Hotel internet connection requires you to log in or "agree to their terms and conditions" on their home page.
3. Once you open the internet browser, wait till their default page opens. If it doesn't, try www.google.com and then maybe their default page may open.
4. Agree to the terms etc, log in if required, and you should be good to go. (follow the instructions on the website. Some hotels leave a 'instruction pamphlet' in your room, on the table describing the log in instructions)
5. Close the browser and see if you can connect to PSN

These problems can not be taken any pro-active measure to prevent this,because it the tv electronic board call the T-CON decoders board is dying,that why is causing this problems.These problems,will not happen to all the tvs sets in ur hotel at once.So,just take care the tvs that have these problems.

your tv is in hotel mode. setting menu is disabled, try these universal steps
1st power off tv
2nd power on and press a key, while power on and release key. When is the right combination, appears setting menu and change from hotel mode to normal mode.

I am an installer for a nationwide big blue store. The inputs on the back of tv's are fairly fragile. In my opinion, if the tuner to tv interface is damaged, ("In the process the ASC tuner, or internal tuner, was pushed back into the TV and the technician said it couldn't be repaired.") it probably is not repairable. Or at least, not economically repairable. Cheaper to replace the whole tv.

On the up side, $850 is pretty cheap for a 47 inch flat screen.

Go and speak with the front desk. And ask if there is a WEP key password for their wireless network. You may have to pay-to-play. But once you get the WEP key. Scan for a connection...choose your hotel's. Set everything to automatic...and input the provided WEP key. Should work fine.
