Not many people use dehumidifiers in the middle of the winter; Are you in a warm weather state? The dehumidifier should have a moisture percentage control. Simply dial it to the desired level. I would suggest setting it to 50% and checking your reservoir in a few hours for any water. Do you have a humidity gauge so that you can see what is the current room condition of humidity? I would be happy with 50%, but you may need something different. Good luck.

I have a DeLonghi NF 90 air conditioner/dehumidifier. The dehumidifier does not appear to be working - first time I have tried to dehumidify. Have had this unit for about 8 years. Thanks, Niall

If the air conditioner works and is blowing out super chilled air, then the dehumidifier function should work. The function takes in warm moist air and passes it over plates which are marginally colder than the ambient air. The air condenses and drips into a collection tank, or some have drain hose for putting into a floor drain.

After 8 years, it may need service and gassing up, but you may also have drier air than you think. Whether is works in AC Mode is the key.

The dehumidifier 20L that I have does not produce any water when on. The tank is always empty and the humidity hardly changes even though a separate humidity meter shows say 68%.

It sounds like it needs servicing and recharging with refrigerant gas. It works by running the moist air over refrigerated elements where the moisture condenses and drips into the tank. Make sure you are on the right setting, most have 'blow air, remove moisture, and A/C'..

The top of the unit has alot of condensation on it. so i am wondering if its freezing up inside. Have set point at 55% what can i do to fix the issue

A little condensation is not something to worry about. But, a lot can be caused by a dirty or clogged air intake filter. Which can also cause the cooling coils to freeze.

Turn the unit OFF & unplug it, before removing the filter for cleaning.

Also, maintain 12" to 18' of clear air space all around the unit.

If the unit is in an extremely moist or damp environment, 55% is not really a low setting. 35% would be more appropriate for this type of environment.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

HI, OUR DEHUMIDIFIER SWEATS ON THE TOP (FORMS WATER BEADS) AND PARTIALLY FORMS ICE.

>check if the steam creating by the dehumidifier is enough or balance to neutralize the fresh air supply of the dehumidifier by not creating a too much moist or more tha 40% relative humidity so that water beads would not form from the top of the dehumidifier unit or from its supply of fresh air.

I just get a dehumidifier it was on all night and the bucket its dry u think theres something wrong with it and whats the % that i have to set it up

% is the % humidity you want.

This is a DEhumidifier for to take water out of air for moist areas.

Usually a setting of 50% or 60% is dry enough. If it is freezing outside, inside of home is probably alreadt below 50%.

If you place in basement below 60 degree, will freeze up. Place over floor drain or in tub and leave off overnight.
