SOURCE: replace drum bearing

To complete this repair correctly and to prevent problem re occuring within months you must change the inner drum spider at the same time as the bearing kit, otherwise you are wasting your time, to complete the repair if you have not done one before will take you aprox 1 to 3 hours depending on space available and practicle ability, here goes, remove lid and outer case from machine to do this remove bolts on lower back and two side bolts (under small white covers) remove bolts along top edges both sides on top of macnine, remove cabinet, remove motor, remove hoses, remove heater and thermostat wires, noting location for refitting, remove suspension leg pins and lift outer drum assembly complete fron lower frame, split two halves of outer drum by removing bolts around centre seem, split drum in two, remove drum pully, refit pully bolt and drift inner drum out having put nut back on drum spider thread to avoid flaring shaft, using hammer knock shaft through bearings, then using a chisel or similer object knock out bearings and seal, reverse process refitting new bearins and spider, make sure to replace centre outer drum seal, as these are prone tro leaking I suggest you also seal with a layer of clear silicon, and problems contact me again, not really a job for a novice. Good Luck you will need it. Regards Advisor

SOURCE: zanussi washing machine wont spin

check the drain hole when you start the machine if the water is coming back out , if yes that means your dump valve is bad.

SOURCE: zanussi washing machine drum will not go round at all

i had a similar problem with a zanussi machine
a cheap bracelet got washed with some clothes and it found its way into the drum housing jamming the drum.

it may have been cheap to fix, but i just got rid of it cos it was 4 years old anyway

i now have a zanussi ZWF1231W just past its 1 wear warranty that has just died completely except for an "on indicator light"
the store inform me that i will have to pay the zanussi engineer a Euro 90 call out charge, plus labour costs, plus parts if needed.

im a little bit disappointed with zanussi to say the least

SOURCE: zanussi washing machine filter

Open the panel at the bottom right of the front of the washer. Then pull out the drain hose and pull the plug from its end - this will drain most of the water. Then the filter turns anti-clockwise - if it is too stiff to turn by hand I use an open set of pliers or strong scissors to give more grip (It may be an idea to put a cloth between the pliers/scissors and the filter to offer some protection.

My zanussi washer zwh6160 p stopped working yesterday. It stopped with a load in it. We gad to manually drain it, then git the door open. We cleaned the filter and inlet pipe filter. We switched it on

Considering that machine did not show any error first check that is not activated option "rinse hold" what mean's "stop drum with full of water". I advise you to make a simple test that will show you where the problem is. In the washing machine or somewhere else. Disconnect the drain hose and lift it up to 1m in height and its end hold over the tub or some larger container. Select short drain program and press the start / pause button. If drain hose ejects a solid water stream then is a problem in-house installation of drain water. If does't or poorly drain water then is problem in the washing machine.

Zanussi zwf 1221 will not turn drum, the end light flashes the water goes into the drum and drains out when a program is selected but the drum will not turn at all. You can turn it by hand and it moves...

you need to check the pressure switch inside the washing machine there a small hose connected with the pressure switch to sense that the level of water inside the drum is ok if this hose blocked the machine will not run

Zanussi fle 1416w wont fully drain the water out and final spin leaves clothes quite wet. When i turn the drum manually i can hear the water below the drum sloshing about. What's wrong with it?

Hi.

Check for drain blockage, check position of the drain hose and check the pressure switch.

1) Access the drain filter and look for drain blockage. With Zanussi front loaders this located in front at the bottom right hand corner, there is an access door in there.Open the door, unscrew the cap and use a container to collect the water. Disconnect power before starting maintenance.

2) Check the position of the drain hose. Make sure that the height of the hose elbow is as specified in the manual or you get siphoning (water getting back from drain hose inside the tub) and drain does not end.

3)The machine has a pressure switch. It is a sensor connected to a long thin rubber hose. The pressure switch is located in control assembly. Clean pressure hose and switch. One way to test the pressure switch is by blowing into the switch, but manufacturers say this must not be done as you can damage a good switch.
The pressure switch is difficult to test in full. Testing is done either reading voltages while machine is cycling or reading Ohms at the switch with tub empty and full. For safety reasons I suggest users to avoid performing tests or maintenance that must be done with power on.

Here a page about drain/spin problem.

Start checking drain hose and drain filter.

Hello,
If there is water still in the drum, try draining it out with the emergency drain hose down by the filter, then take out the filter bung by turning anti-clockwise and pull out to see what has got stuck in the pump. After this is cleared the door should open and the machine should be ready to run again.

Hope this helps.

Zanussi IZ12 bearings gone & plastic fragments in drum

Probably all parts inside drum is ok.Heating element is the only damageable item and a sensor.Changing bearings you must separate the drum, all screws in middle of drum must out and then bearing and zimmerring can be changed.Jan

Coin trapped between rotating drum and casing

Get underneath the machine and remove the big black house coming directly out of the drum, this is held in place with either a screw tie or pinch type tie.
Put the machine back level and see if the coins drop out (they should) or have a feel around inside the drum.
Please make sure machine is unplugged and empty before carrying out this procedure.
Some water will come out of hose.

Cycle

Clean the drain filter ( It says its self cleaning but its not).
On my Hotpoint Aquarius WD440 the procedure is as folows:

1) Drain as best as possible, switch off electrics at socket
2) Remove the plastic panel at the back of the machine
3)Locate the large diameter short black flexi drain hose on the right hand side
4)Slacken the screw on the TOP jubilee clip (The one holding the hose to the drum ) until the rubber hose can slide off
5) The plastic filter is inside the end of the hose. Remove it, disassemble and clean it - then reassemble it remembering to re-insert the ball inside the filter
6) Put the filter back in the hose, there are 2 slots which will locate on two ribs on the drum
7) Refit the hose and re-tighten the jubilee clip.
