SOURCE: I have a sony trinitron XBR and the PIP won't turn

Please make sure that one input is connected to the UHF/VHF port of the TV and other is connected to composite or component ports. If you have connected likewise, please perform the steps below:

  1. Ensure the video source is turned on.
  2. Ensure the video source is connected to an available VIDEO input jack on the back of the television. IMPORTANT: The VIDEO 5 input cannot be used to view a program in the PIP window.
  3. On the television remote control, press the TV FUNCTION button.
  4. On the television remote control, in the PIP section, press the TV/VIDEO button to select the appropriate video input for the PIP window.
  5. If the issue is not resolved, connect the Audio/Video (A/V) cable from the video source to a different VIDEO input jack on the television.
  6. On the television remote control, in the PIP section, press the TV/VIDEO button to select the appropriate video input for the PIP window.
  7. If the issue is not resolved, replace the A/V cable.

Sony TV model XBR-65X930E. Recently, the Tv screen goes black (a short while after its turned on) while the sound goes on. can you please let me know what is the part that needs to replaced?

This sounds like a backlight issue....... If you shine a torch light into the screen do you see a faint picture? If yes then definitely a backlight issue but it could be the led backlights blown or the T-con board, further tests would be required to determine which.

Sony videoscope xbr

would think you need to replace the cable board etc. the signal is not getting in and out right. can also be a fault on the power board giving the wrong volts so would check this to. it will tell you on the board what volts is supposed to be. the 5v and 12v should be spot on other volts will vary a little. also check the capacitors for the caps to be bowed up and a brown/ yellow gunk around them and under the board this can be a sign they are failing.

I have Sony bravia XBR and right side the screen is more darker and have lost color. Any idea. please help if u can.

my guess is that the right side of the t-con board/LCD control unit if failing. this board controls video drive on screen 2 processors on the circuit 1 for right the other for left. if this does not fix then the problem is going to be the display it-self which is not cost effective to repair. Hope this helps some.

Also before replacing anything clean all ribbon cables between main board and lcd control unit and between the lcd control and panel.

can clean with pencil eraser. board location

main unit - circuit to the left or middle usually have inputs on it.
LCD control- top and center with 2-4 ribbons leaving the top and going to the screen.

hope this helps.

I have a sony bravia xbr 32 inch and the picture is only on half the screen

It is possible that Twin Picture function is enabled, turn it off with remote/ menu options.
If this is not the case then T-Con board sounds bad and needs to be tested/ replaced.
Qualified tv tech will test and replace it.
Thanks.

I have a bravia xdr9 and it has a vertical red line on the left part of the screen. I don't loose the picture.

The LCD Panel is the source of the problem. Sometimes the T-Con Board that connects to the LCD Panel fails causing this problem. For the most part, the Panels come with this Board and the Board is not available by it's self.
In short, the LCD Panel needs to be replaced.
Due to the cost to replace, I recommend you to call Sony at 1800-222-SONY to see if they would be able to help you in the repair cost.
I hope this helps,
Skyassoc
