The cartridge for that colour could be empty. There is usually a way to check the ink levels either on the printer display or through the printer settings on the computer it is connected to.

Testimonial: "The cartridge is full and was working yeesterday"

Have you tried putting it through a head cleaning cycle? Usually when a full colour cartridge fails it’s usually a clogged feed to the printer head. Try the clean cycle. If that doesn’t work try unplugging the printer. Remove the cartridge. Use a cotton bud to ‘Gently’ rub the feed hole clean then use another one to clean the feed pin in the printer head. Put the printer back together and repeat the cleaning cycle. If this doesn’t solve the problem you might have to take it to a repair specialist.

Here is a link to hp's web site. They will troubleshoot your issue. This link is linked to a page talking about HP Inkjet Cartridges and Media - Missing Color, Wrong Color, or Streaks in the Printout. There are several links in this site to go off of and troubleshoot further. SOURCE: HP Photosmart 3200 All-In-One not printing yellow

Step1
If you're setting up the printer or changing the toner or ink cartridge for the first time, double-check the instructions to make sure that you installed the cartridge correctly and, for new printers, that you have removed all the pieces of cardboard or plastic packing material.
Step
2
Check to see whether paper is feeding from the paper tray. If it's not leaving the tray at all, try feeding a page manually (if that's an option) or using a different paper tray. Sometimes a problem with the tray can be traced to a broken spring or a piece of plastic.
Step
3
If paper is feeding from the tray but jamming in the printer, examine where the jam is occurring and then inspect the printer carefully to see if you can find what is causing the problem. A piece of paper, for instance, might be blocking the paper path.
Step
4
If paper is feeding through the printer but coming out blank, check to see whether the printer is out of toner or ink. A defective toner or ink cartridge could be the problem.

SOURCE: HP LaserJet 1500... prints color yellow ONLY

Missing or incorrect color
You have changed the color settings manually. Return the color setting to Automatic. • Windows: On the Color tab of the printer driver, click Automatic. • Mac OS: In the Print dialog box, select the HP ColorSmart or HP Color Quality pop-up menu and then select the Manual option.
Your print media does not meet the specifications for this printer. For example, you are using coated, glossy, or photo paper. Use a different paper, such as a high-quality paper designed for laser printers. See the user guide for information about print-media specifications.
You are operating the printer in excessively humid or dry conditions. Verify that the printer environment is within humidity specifications. A print cartridge might be low on toner. Check the printer control panel, print a Supplies Status page, or view the embedded Web server (HP color LaserJet 2500 series printers only) to see supplies status. (If you are using a non-HP cartridge, none of these sources will provide information about a low or empty print cartridge.) If a cartridge is low on toner, replace the print cartridge.
Clean the sensors and perform a calibration.

The HP Color LaserJet 1500 Series Toolbox is not supported for the Macintosh operating systems. 1 Make sure that the printer is turned on and in the Ready state. 2 Open the Toolbox. 3 On the Troubleshooting tab, click Cleaning Page and click Print. A page with a pattern prints from the printer. 4 At the printer, remove any media from tray 1 (multipurpose tray). 5 Remove the page that printed and load it face-down into tray 1 6 At the computer, click Clean.
Note For even better results, repeat this procedure several times.

The printer automatically performs a calibration when the imaging drum or a print cartridge is changed, and at set intervals that are determined by the total number of pages the printer has printed. For the HP Color LaserJet 2500 series printers, you can change the interval at which the printer performs automatic calibrations by using the embedded Web server.
To calibrate the printer manually Turn the printer off, wait one minute, and then turn the printer on again.
To calibrate the printer from the Toolbox The following procedure must be performed from the HP Color LaserJet 1500 Series Toolbox or the HP Color LaserJet 2500 Series Toolbox, which are only supported for Windows 98, NT 4.0 (HP Color LaserJet 2500 series printers with parallel connections only), Me, 2000, and XP.
Note The HP Color LaserJet 1500 Series Toolbox is not supported for the Macintosh operatingsystems. 1 Open the Toolbox in one of these ways: • On the desktop, double-click the HP Color LaserJet 1500 Series Toolbox or HP Color LaserJet 2500 Series Toolbox icon. • On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to HP Color LaserJet 1500 or HP Color LaserJet 2500, and select the HP Color LaserJet 1500 Series Toolbox or the HP Color LaserJet 2500 Series Toolbox. 2 On the Troubleshooting tab, click Diagnostic Tools (on the left side of the screen). 3 Click Calibrate Now.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: My canon pixma 4000 lide won't print yellow, even with a new tank

I doubt your printer needs recalibrated. If one color is not printing, check the following :

1. Is the suspect ink tank snapped firmly into place?
2. Did you remove the sealing paper pull tab completely off of the tiny air hole on the cartridge? I've had this happen and found the paper or a small part of it to be still in place which prevented the cartridge from working.
3. Try using the maintenance tab on "control panel" "Printers" "properties" and do a cleaning of the print nozzles. Do a "Print test pattern" procedure to see how your progress is working out.
4. If all fails, try another yellow cartridge. It may be defective

HP Officejet 6310 will not print cyan

The Cyan print head nozzle maybe blocked.
If deep cleaning does not fix it then you need a new print head.
The cost of a new print head is expensive and it maybe better to get a new printer.

I have HP Deskjet D2466 Printer and when i want to print with color cartridge, the black color would be printed as blue color... My black cartridge was exhausted so i only can printed with color...

when the color cartridge has to make black, it uses all three colors. printing blue indicates that the color cart. is getting low on red and yellow. get a new black cart. and a new color, 'cause it' s coming due.

Red and Yellow colors are playing up

It's normally caused by dirty scanner mirrors, the machine will need to be dissembled, the laser scanner unit removed, taken apart and the mirrors cleaned. Unfortunately it is quite fiddly getting the scanner unit out, but this is a very common problem for the HP colour laserjet 2600's
If you want the service manual it can be downloaded from the following link free of charge http://www.eserviceinfo.com/equipment_mfg/HP_22.html
