Remove the cold water hose from the back of the washing machine look inside the valve there will be a screening there clean the screen do not remove it and throw it away if you can get the screen out without damaging it you can reinstall it but do not run the machine without that screen in the valve

SOURCE: Rinse Cycle Doesn't Fill with Water

You may want to double check you have the inlet hoses around the correct way as if you have the cold hose going to the hot valve it would cause this fault. If the machine doesnt spin properly also it could be a faulty Out of balance switch. cheers.

well the first thing i would do is take the cold line loose from the washer get a large bucket and open the cold line with the hose off and see what kind of pressure there is if very little need a plumber or in crese your well pump pressure check your screen while you have the hose off if all of this is ok id replace the washer water valves

SOURCE: my washing machine will fill with hot water only,

Check for a cold water supply problem by taking a look at the water inlet valve. Remove the water supply hoses and check the small metal screens inside the openings on the valve (especially the cold water side). Make sure they are free of rust or debris. Check the solenoids. They can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid and the water inlet valve assy will need replaced. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Kenmore 70 series washer

If you can see a constant water pressure from the hot and cold, chances are the water solenoid valves are ok.

I would look towards resetting to factory and checking the main control unit.

My washer will not fill with water or do any functions when i turn the dial

My Hoover 7700l ...on "fill" cycle, the water dribbles in. Takes hours to fill so we use buckets to reach the required level.

Tried: Swapping cold and hot water inlet hoses, making sure that dial is in "hot". This solved the problem for filling, BUT when "rinse cycle appoars, it's back to the dribble again.

any ideas?
