SOURCE: my microwave is sweating

No. This is usually a sign of poor venting or air flow. It's possible that the coling fan is not circulating the air properly due to a problem with it or maybe the air vents are blocked. Also, there needs to be a couple of inches around a countertop model on all sides - especially the back - to ensure air flow. Look for buildup on the back vent grille. You can listen for the fan to be running and feel the air flow while it's running. If it's weak or not there, it needs inspection / service. A lack of air flow can cause the magnetron to overheat and be damaged. If this is a built-in model also check your air filter, air duct work and outdoor vent flap. Write back if you still have trouble.

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite Advantium 120, model # 363.63693301,

You probably just have a bad primary interlock (upper door switch) or its mount is loose or broken.

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

If the switch mount is broken, it's usually more economical and safer to add a dab or two of hot glue to the mount to secure the switch. Let it cool for about 30 minutes before using.

We have the service / repair manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

It will give you safety info, step by step help in disassembly, troubleshooting tips, and part numbers.

Most computers will open this document automatically, but you may need the free Adobe Reader.

For more on door switches & mounts, see:

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

If a switch is all you need, we offer a universal type for only $5 postpaid which you can order here.

But if you need any cosmetic parts,
enter your full model number at the Sears parts site.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Kenmore elite microwave/convection oven will not heat on microwave.

You need to take it to a Service Centre. They are too dangerous to work on yourself and the case is secured by special security screws. You can check the back to see if there is a screw in, out pull out fuse carrier.

F80 code on Kenmore Elite Microwave/convection oven....I keep getting error code F80 and the microwave stops working. Any way to fix this myself without calling a tech?

microwave ovens are simple radio transmitters , putting out high intensity radio waves in the oven
so unless you are a radio tech or fully trained in microwave ovens, it will be cheaper to take it in for a proper diagnosis and quote
not what you want to read but generally if the unit will not work, the cheapest fix is a new unit

Kenmore elite microwave touch screen stopped working

Same thing happened to us. We just came back from Sears, where we bought another. Just for giggles, my wife suggested unplugging the old one and plugging it back in again. It works now. New one's going back to the store.
