I recently had the same issue with a 6 month old Panasonic...the Tech determined that a component on the main circuit board failed. I was lucky and it was fixed under warranty. Good luck!

CK 3 capacitors on the deflection board cp150 2200uf 16 if it is puffed up on top it is bad so replace cp114 and 120 220uf 35v also.

This problem is quite common in these type set which employ the use of the Thompson ITC222 chassis.
There are three capacitors that create this situation, they are:
CP120, CP140, and CP150. If you have a background in electronics and know how to solder well, this is an easy problem to take care of. This just requires the replacing of these capacitors.
So if you do have a background in electronics I have the schematic if you need it.

If you do not have a background in electronics I would suggest that you have qualified TV technician do this for you.
