The F1 error on a Fisher and Paykel dishwasher means the flood switch was activated for seven seconds or longer. ... You might not realize it if the water was flooding into the compartment under the sink instead

SOURCE: dishwasher f1 problem on fisher paykel

All the information that I have found about this particular problem indicates that the "F1" error is a flood or overflow alarm. It's generally caused by a clog in the drain line and/or tub not sealing properly when closed.

If this is a drawer style dishwasher there is a lid in the equipment cabinet that must seat properly on the drawer when it is closed. If you place items in the dishwasher that are too tall for the drawer lid to seat properly, it will not seal and water will splash over the sides of the tub during the wash cycle.

Another common problem is a clogged or kinked drain line. Remove the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged. Check it at BOTH ends.

The alarm is activated by a float switch in the bottom tray of the dishwasher. Look to see if this is any standing water in the bottom tray. If there is any water, or signs of wetness, the alarm will not clear until it is dried out. I found a couple of recommendations to clear the alarm. The first involved removing the dishwasher from where it is installed and tilting it at a 45 degree angle to pour any standing water out. Another method is to dry the bottom out with towels as best you can, and then use a hair dryer to dry any residual water. I hope I'm on the right track with this and I hope this solves your problem. Post back if you have any further questions.

CAUTION: UNPLUG the dishwasher or turn off the breaker BEFORE servicing inside the cabinet.

SOURCE: I have a Fisher Paykel dishwasher with water in top drawer

You need a Air gap kit designed by Fisher and Paykel to address this problem. It is pricey but it is worthy. I used this and very happy with it since no back flow problem from one while other running. Here is a link to order it.http://www.fisherpaykelparts.net/product/WT50/WT50-Dual-Air-Gap-Kit/

SOURCE: fisher and paykel double drawer dishwasher flashes

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa.
F1 error means that the flood switch has been activated. You’ll need to reset it by powering off the breaker or by unplugging the unit from the power socket and mains for more than five minutes. Please check that there is no blockage in the drain hose and it is not raised higher otherwise the water will run back to the dishwasher. Also perform the following procedure---

    • Unplug power and remove bottom dish drawer
    • Use a Sponge and dry all the excess water underneath
    • Remove circuit board cover
    • Dry all around and underneath as much as possible
    • Apply hairdryer for 10-15min

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

F1 error on Fisher and Paykel Dish Drawer

Sorry did not see your problem report earlier. If you have checked the sensor under the bottom drawer and it is dry, then F1 is caused by top drawer power filter fault. This means the bottom drawer controller is giving the F1 error but the top drawer controller has no power. Can you confirm this.

F1 flood switch is on

The F1 code in both drawers could mean flood at base of dishwasher (under bottom drawer) . If it is occuring only in bottom drawer then it is likely the power circuit for top drawer is blown.

Need to know which of the above to give advise on how to fix.

Fisher & paykel fault "F1" is displayed on the top

hello
F1 means the flood sensor senses water at base of machine at PC board.
You need to take out bottom drawer and check for water puddle under where the drawer was.If there is water you can get the machine going again by comletely drying it out(F1WILL CLEAR),but it still means you have a leak. With bottom drawer out you can really see whats going on.Once F1 is clear you can actually run upper drawer and see if it leaks. Most likely culprit are the lid actuators.Replace all 4 . It'll run like new.Don't overload drawer .That can cause lid leak too. Also the PC board may be damaged and may start to go crazy giving fake F1 codes.$80 easy fix.
good luck

Fisher and paykel doulble drawer dishwasher gives me an f1 repair symble and will not turn off. Fliped breaker hoping for a re-set. Not a freaking chanse. What can I do?

hi john. F1 means your machine has activated the flood switch. you either have a leak or you might have used the wrong detergent causing it to soap up and the suds escaping out thru the overflow. let the machine sit turned off for a day or so to let it dry then try the top drawer first. if that goes alright then try the bottom drawer.if you need more help please reply.also reply if you still have F1 coming up.

My Fisher Paykel dishwasher is flashing F1 - top drawer only. The bottom drawer is working just fine.

F1 error means the flood switch in the drawer is activated. If there is water inside when you open the drawer then you will have to manually empty it with a small container.

Most likely the solenoid that controls inlet water is faulty or the water level sensor is faulty.

Try turning the mains power and water off and on again and run dishwasher. If fault persists then you may have replace the parts.

Hi Both drawers show error F1 flashing beeping with rinse light on and both pumps run after power is applied to machine

F1 error indicates flood switch in base has activated, meaning machine has leaked. This causes machine to drain continously, and can only be stopped by switching off power. Not easy to fix if you don't have experience- bottom drawer has to be removed to access flood switch, then machine needs to be test run and checked for leaks. Best to call the professionals!!

Fisher & Paykel single drawer dishwasher F1 flashing.

F1 indicates a problem with the Flood sensor. I cleaned all the filters etc. removed the drawer viewed under the drawer, it was dry. There is nothing further I can do, so called the Appliances repair person and booked an appointment for him to determine if an outlet hose is blocked or has a hole in it or whatever. Thanks for all the suggestions Blokes. I'm technically challenged. Happy New Year
