If you are looking to change the keyless chuck to a keyed one, give it up. I cannot get the keyless chuck off my drill and I suspect it has permanent set loctite which would require heating the shaft and chuck. Disassembly would be required to apply enough heat to break the bond. For me I cannot justify time and trouble to disassemble and reassemble the gearbox on the drill. I have found hex or triangular drill bits, hole saws, and countersink tools that will not slip in a keyless chuck but... I still do not like those darn things.

SOURCE: Chuck broke on my hammer drill

To take a chuck off of your drill open it up all the way.
Inside there's a screw that you have to take out. It has to be turned clockwise to get it out.
You may need to struggle with it a bit because it's usually really on there tight.
Some folks even use a second drill to loosen it up and that's a really good idea if you have access to one.
Once you get the stubborn little screw out, put an Allen wrench in the spot where the bit would fit in.
If you can't turn it--and you probably won't be able to--then try using a rubber mallet to (gently) hit the arm of the Allen wrench to get it to turn.
Then you should be able to just take it out.
Put the new chuck into the drill.
Add a few twists of the Allen wrench in the opposite direction.
Tighten it up good.
Put the screw back in place and also tighten that up good.
The drill has a lot of vibration and if these aren't tight, it'll cause problems down the road.
Your drill, expertly fitted with your brand new chuck, should now be good to go.

SOURCE: Cordless Hammer Drill Sfh 151 A 2.0Ah: Hi, How do you change the chuck on the Hilti SF 15...

Hi. open the chuck to the max. inside the chuck you will see a screw. remove it. put the drill in reverse. hold the chuck. a vice may be needed. pull the trigger. this may work, however in my experience, they are very tricky to get off. I have never had a faulty chuck but have had many faulty gearboxes. i have had to buy ney chuck to fit with the new gearboxes because i couldn't get the good chuck of the damaged gear box. good luck.

Before you look for a replacement of switch try first to checked the connections of switch if it is OK,then try to cleaned the contact with it.,If you are know how to used a tester try to checked the continuity of the switch, by placing the test probe of the tester to the 2 wire of the switch then from the tester select sound continuity,(one test probe to one wire) it should hear a sound from the tester,it means the the switch is good. Hope this simple solution could help to solve your problem. Don' t forget to rate me up sir/madam.Thanks.

My dewalt dc223 has a normal chuck on it but no sds chuck.. will this stop the hammer or is it broken?

If someone replaced the chuck the hammer part likely failed and it's a normal drill now, the hammer function would destroy a regular chuck.

How do i replace the jacob chuck on a hilti hammer drill?

Open the jaws of the chuck all the way open. Inside the chuck you will see a slotted screw. Use a large flat head screw driver and remove screw. It will have left handed threads.

After you remove the screw put the end of the chuck in a vise where the 6 flats sides are. Put the drill in low gear and reverse. Hold tight and turn on the drill. This should run the chuck right off the spindle.

Can't release drill bit from Buffalo cordless drill

If the chuck is too tight to get the bit out you can either put a glove on one hand grab the chuck and run the drill in the reverse direction or if that will not work use vise grips or a small pipe wrench on the chuck to loosen it but be sure to tape the pipe wrench or vise grips with a thin piece of duct tape so you don't gouge the drill chuck.

There is play in the chuck may be bearings. it means drill bit wanders slightly when drilling. drill bits lock in properly but the chuck has left to right play in it

You seem to have found the problem, now you must disassemble the gear head and remove the chuck. Open the chuck jaws wide and look for a screw inside that locks the chuck to the shaft.
