Do you mean the Bose Lifestyle AV48, the main unit in the Lifestyle 48 DVD home entertainment centre? If so, the Installation and Operating manuals are available on the product page: https://www.bose.com/en_us/support/products/5_speaker_home_theater_support/ls48_series1.html#v=ls48_series1_black . The direct link to the operating manual is currently https://assets.bose.com/content/dam/Bose_DAM/Web/consumer_electronics/global/products/speakers/ls38_series1/pdf/opg_en_ls48_series1_ls38_series1.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I had the same problem as this, but have lost my remote, so the system is know useles. Any way back to the point if you wiggle the cable around that goes in the speaker zone port then turn it off and back on then it should work :-D.

SOURCE: can i use a non-bose amp to drive the speaker

Yes you would be able to use a non bose amp. All the speakers should have crossovers in them, If you do start at a low volume first, you can blow your speakers if your amp is too big and volume is too high.

I am attempting to connect a computer monitor to my bose lifestyle 38 system. The monitor has an HMDI input

I think that will be hard to do as I own an AV38 and there is no HDMI feature on my BOSE SYSTEM. I had to use the AV inlet. The AV48 DOES have the HDMI feature.( Unless you have a much later model AV38 that has the HDMI feature.

I have a BOSE Lifestyle 48 without sound

Not sure if this is the same problem, but I lost audio from the Stored, TV, Radio and my external speakers, but still had audio for the CD/DVD. I contacted Bose (Australia) support and they talked me through a solution that worked for me.
Remove the power cord from the Media centre, then while holding down the 'All Off' and 'Vol down' buttons on the Media Centre, reconnect the power (and continue to hold the buttons down). After 10 secs, release the buttons and turn the Media centre on. Everything worked fine for me after doing this.
Full marks to Bose for the phone support. I hope this helps someone else.

Lifestyle 48 locked up

Just got off phone with Bose support with this very problem during install of a VS-2 software updtae to an older LS48 system. (Bose support personnel were very helpful on phone - and walked me through procedure to solve). I presume you unplugged and replugged power supply with no resolution. In that case, unplug power supply, wait 30 seconds and while holding down the "open/close button" and the "store" button (on media center) plug the power supply back in. Continue holding until the "Bose Lifestyle" message disappears. I presume this puts the system into a diagnostic mode, as the next steps in my case were to press and hold the "erase" button while scrolling through a menu of options using the "volume up" button. I believe it was the third "volume up" press that brought me to "FLASH" on the system screen. At that point I was told to release the "erase" button and press the enter button. The system rebooted and my VS-2 install went smoothly after that.
I'd recomend calling Bose support (800-905-2138) since your lockup occured during a CD load vs a software update (just to be on the safe side) - I was talking to a live tech support person in less than 15 seconds... a pleasant surprise.
