Does it go all the way in and just doesn't turn on? Is the battery charged? Does it fit on the charger? Are the connection pins inside the camera bent? Check these then come back.

Did you put batteries in both units and in the right order, sensor first?
Step 1: Insert 2 fresh AA, batteries into the TX29U-IT sensor according to the polarity marked in the battery compartment.
Step 2: Insert 2 fresh AAA, Alkaline batteries into the wireless thermometer according to the polarity markings. Step 3: After 5 minutes place sensor outside in a shaded location.

I bought mine from Amazon.com on 111/15/2011. 1 of Panasonic VW-VBG130 VW-VBG260 Battery Charger for Home & Car by Pexell. The cost was: Item Subtotal: $3.64 ,Shipping & Handling: $4.95, Total: $8.59 It hasn't arrived yet,so I don't know how well it will work. When I get it I'll update you.
Yes. all three batteries can be charged by the vsk0697 adapter. However, the vbg260 is three time as deep as vbg070 and vbg6 is even deeper, So the batteries may not fit on the camcorder or may protrude outside. These will fit nicely for camcorders like HDC-sd9 (mine). Panasonic recommends a wait-belt-carrier bag for these batteries with adapter plate plus cable to use with the camcoders to avoid the original design weight balance of holding the camcorders.
