What happened when kenmore upright freeze is not freeze and then temperature is lower
Does it have a high temperature alarm? I have an older Kenmore with this that requires a 9 volt backup battery to activate the alarm if the power goes off. If the battery goes dead over time, the alarm won't shut off even with the power on. My battery is behind a small door on the left side end of the plastic floor dress plate on the bottom front of the freezer. I use a 9 volt lithium battery myself. I have a backup generator so it doesn't have a lot of time to run on the battery. Where an alkaline battery lasts me about 18 months, This lithium battery has been in for 3 years and shows no sign of failing yet. They have a shelf life of 15 years or more all though they won't last that long in this application. It's worth not coming home and not finding the dogs going wild due to the high pitched beep. The battery was the problem in ours. It was doing the same thing. We went through a whole bunch of stuff trying to figure it out too since we bought it as a floor model only two weeks ago. It's just a 9 volt battery.

Check these two things first. 1. Is there a thick frost buildup on the back panel at the bottom half of the freezer? 2. Do you hear the fan running inside the freezer? Let me know what you find.

is it possible the door has not been closed at some point?
If so they can build up with ice in the evaporator which the defrost system cannot handle....Try a manual defrost.
Depending on where the unit is installed high ambient temperature can drop the internal temp enough to set the alarm off though they will still freeze sufficiently

It sounds like the unit is low on freon or the compressor is going bad. You have several other components that could be affecting this as well. Make sure the coils are free from dust and clean underneath. This is a bit premature for you to have problems now, especially since it is a Sears product.

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire freezer is not working and lights are on. Have you had a recent power outage? I would recommend resetting your freezer and you can do that by disconnecting power from your freezer for at least ten minutes.
