Our Movado black bold just arrived and the hands of time are working but the illumination is not working on hands or the circular dial. Is there something I can do?

Is it a Chronograph. Sounds like it is stuck on Timing.

Did they put the correct battery in?

you do not need to return, as this is re-settable. Pull out crown to the first position (date setting) and then toggle with upper push button. If upper button do not do the job, try the bottom one. When you reach 12, then push the crown back in. Start the chrono, stop it and check if it returns to 12.

Movado watches require repairs done by an authorized Movado dealer. Call your locally-owned high-end jeweler and they can send it off for you... or Google "Movado repair" for an online resource.
It's not cheap (just like the Movado watch!), so I guess you need to decide how important it is to you to have the second hand movement.
