Look for a blockage in the hose itself and where the dryer hose connects to the wall vent. That's where you'll find a large amount of lint causing your problem.

SOURCE: Lint Filter Light comes on and cycle is interupted

I just found that the filter itself was not allowing airflow- I tested by blowing through it with my mouth- no airflow. I cleaned it with a high pressure air hose and noticed that the flow is much better now. I cleaned it by hand several times, and washing in water (which may have made theproblem).

Why would check vent light go on after replacing sensor and computer

Is the dryer vent blocked with lint? If there is a restriction in air flow in the vent system, the dryer will stop. Make sure the vent path is completely clean even in the wall where the vent hose connects.

Dryer wont heat for more than 10 minutes when cold

did you clean the vent line?THAT COULD MAKE IT RUN HOT THE AIR CAN'T BLOW OUTSIDE,BUT WITH THE DRYER HAVING HEAT WHEN IT STARTS AND THEN AFTER LIKE 10 MINUTES NO HEAT IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE BAD GAS COILS,WHEN THE COILS ARE STARTING TO FAIL THEY WILL WORK FOR LIKE THE FIRST 10 TO 20 MINUTES AND WHEN THEY HEAT UP NO GAS,WHEN THE COOL THEY WILL WORK AGAIN,I WOULD CHANGE THE COILS AND CLEAN OUT THE DRYER AND VENT LINE,THIS SHOULD BE DONE ONCE A YEAR SO YOU DON'T HAVE A FIRE AND YOUR CLOTHES WILL DRY ON TIME,EVERYONE THINKS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE DRYER AND ALL THAT HAPPENS IS THE VENT LINE AND THE DUCT WHERE THE LINT FILTER SLIDES INTO FILLS WITH LINT AND THE AIR CAN'T BLOW AROUND GOOD ANYMORE,ALSO WITH A SHOP VAC VAC UP THE LINT WHERE THE BURNER AND MOTOR IS AND THEN SET THE VAC UP TO BLOW AND BLOW THE MOTOR AND GAS BURNER OUT,DO THIS AND YOU'LL HARDLY HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE DRYER

Gas Dryer wont stay lit.

It may be your dryer vent piping. If the piping from the dryer to the outside of the house is clogged with lint (which happens periodically) the dryer cannot get rid of the heat generated by the gas burner. When the temperature reaches a certain level the high limit switch opens and shuts the burner off. The switch closes again after the dryer cools down. Check the lint filter and all the vent piping for any obstructions and clean out thoroughly. This should solve your problem. Hope this helps.

Dryer takes forever to dry even after i cleaned the vents out

don't forget the exhaust tube coming from the back of the dryer and leaving the building. those can get pretty restricted with lint. Another place to look is inside the cabinet for lint. Getting these cleaned regularly can prevent a fire.

Thermalfuse in whirlpool duet electric dryer blows every few months - what is causing this? Had servive 4 times inlast 10 months - keep replacing the thermalfuse and also shortened the vent hose for better...

Hi miralou

Check for lint buildup and clean if necessary your vent hose.
If you vent hose "seems" to be clean then, try running the dryer with the vent hose off and see if the dryer is blowing out a good stream of air.
If you are running too hot you are not moving enough air thru the system and it will normally blow the thermostat/thermistor.
Check to see:
It could be that the fan blade is plugged up.
The problem could be a large lint ball build up in the center of the fan or a sock, thin pants,a pen, etc. that has gotten into the fan by falling down the hole where the lint screen is normally inserted impeading the air flow.
You have to find the air restriction to solve the problem.
It also can be a loose or worn out blower wheel/fan.

AF flashing on our Whirpool Cabrio Dryer.

Hi Terry,

AF flashes if a restricted airflow condition exists. Check to make sure the lint screen is clean, the door seal is in place and the vent is not
obstructed.
I suspect it's the vent connecting the dryer to the wall or the vent pipe in the wall to the outside. Without moving your dryer, look behind it to see if the flex duct is crushed or pinched. If it is, it's pinching off your air flow, too. Pull the dryer out straighten or replace the hose (you can get vent hose at Home Depot, Lowes or Ace Hardware) then slide the dryer back being careful to keep it about 8" from the wall (8" is the recommended distance from the back of the dryer to the wall, btw).
If the flex vent is NOT pinched off, then you should call a chimney sweep to come out and clean the vent pipe that's in the wall.

*Note---> If you want to test this diagnosis to verify it, just disconnect the flex hose from the wall and run a load of clothes. The error code should not reappear.
