Our AC unit is not cooling. Fan will run and heat will work. System says OP sensor not connected? Model Honeywell HZ432, zoned 3 ways.

The "OP sensor not connected" error message on a Honeywell HZ432 zoned 3-way AC unit indicates that there is a problem with the outdoor temperature sensor. The outdoor temperature sensor, also known as the outdoor sensor or the thermistor, is responsible for measuring the outdoor temperature and sending the data to the thermostat. If the sensor is not properly connected or is malfunctioning, the AC unit may not cool properly or may not function at all.
Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix the problem:
  1. Check the sensor connection: Make sure that the outdoor temperature sensor is securely connected to the thermostat. If the connection is loose, the sensor may not be able to send the correct data to the thermostat.
  2. Check the sensor location: Make sure that the outdoor temperature sensor is located in a suitable place where it can accurately measure the outdoor temperature. It should be in a shaded area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  3. Check the sensor wiring: Make sure that the sensor wiring is not damaged or frayed. If the wiring is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
  4. Replace the sensor: If the sensor is malfunctioning, it will need to be replaced.
  5. Check the thermostat: Make sure that the thermostat is set to the correct mode and temperature.

There are built in backups that will hold the time for you if the power goes out. This t-stat will also update for daylight savings time. There are HOLD features that allow you to modify your program and hold it and then go back to the original.

Change reminders that are built in include the air filter, UV light, humidifier service and of course the batteries of the thermostat. The blower of you furnace can also be programmed to run extra to help increase the air quality in your home.

If you decide you want to know the outdoor temperature you can purchase an additional sensor and then hook it to you thermostat. The outdoor temperature will then be displayed on you thermostat. This feature also gives you the capability of using the sensor to monitor indoor temperatures remotely.

This thermostat will keep you very comfortable as the variation typically in temperature from set point is less than 1 degree F. The thermostat after a period of time learns the characterizes of the way the house or building heats and cools and then adjusts to get the most efficient operation of the heating or cooling system while maintaining a very close temperature tolerance.

By changing a few of the parameters in the thermostat this can be can be configured for either single stage conventional heat/cool systems or any single stage heat pump system.

I want to replace an outdoor temperature sensor with a Honeywell C7089U Outdoor Sensor. Should I tuck it into the Heatpump side panel as it is right now or mount it up on the wall ?

Wouldn’t mount directly above heat pump due to graft from unit, outside anywhere is fine, directly behind unit likely best location.

Honeywell RTH7600, RET97C has been operating good until recently. AC had always come on when there was a 1 degree difference between setting and room temperature.

When you turn power on/off your resetting the entire system. The problem is your air handling unit or outdoor unit. Something is locking out the system. Would need model number outdoor unit/indoor unit.
What breaker are you resetting? For what unit.

Heat pump runs on electric when outside temperature is higher than cutin

Check your thermostat and heat pump owner's manuals. Thermostat may be programmed to require electric heat at higher temps. Also could be bad outdoor temperature sensor tied to
Heat pump system controls (I had that problem) When was it installed? Warranty thermostat and or Heat pump? Call installer
Thermostat programming is a headache. No help from installer? call customer service heat pump and thermostat. Some possibility of bad installer wiring. There is also a heat pump "defrost" cycle. Usually the Electric coil will turn on to compensate for the Defrost cycle which is just the standard air conditioning mode therefore moves heat from inside to the outside coil to melt the frost. This cycle may be occurring too often. I had that problem. Fixed under warrantee.
Heat pumps are complex machines. The controls even more.
You need a tech, hopfully you are still under warranty.
Hope this helps.

Which contacts do I connect the boiler to? I thought it was the TT, but I am not getting any voltage on them.

Here is a link, that includes the wiring diagram:
http://www.forwardthinking.honeywell.com/related_links/water/aq2000/install/69_1974.pdf

It looks like the 'T-T' terminals match up with 'T-T' terminals on the Boiler Aquastat-- Do you see that control?-- and do you have wires between those controls.
Power to this Control Module is all the way to the left on the connector terminal board-- the ones that say:
R (1) C (2) - Power In

Also: Did you realize that this control is a modulating control-- Not just an 'On-Off' control?
This control has outdoor sensors, that modulate the temperature of the water temperature-- The warmer it is outside, the lower it sets the Hot Water Temperature-- thus saving fuel-- yet assuring that on very cold days, you still get Hot enough water to be comfortable in your occupied space.

How to program Honeywell thermostat for remote sensor

Remote Sensor (Setup Function 0340): If an optional outdoor sensor is installed, the thermostat can display the outside temperature. If an optional remote indoor sensor is installed, the thermostat will display the temperature at the sensor location (the internal sensor in the thermostat is not used).
\ 0 No remote sensor
1 Outdoor sensor (display only)
2 Outdoor control sensor (select heat pumps

Heat pump that just blows cool air

is the condenser operating? what is the outdoor temperature? A heat pump is a cooling system with a reverse gear, most reversing valves which make this possible fail to the heat mode so it is not likely to be the problem. You should have either gas or electric back-up heat. If you switch to emergency heat do you get warm air? Really need to find out more to make an informed guess at your problem, the simple stupid would be is the circuit breaker to the condensing unit possibly tripped or shut off?
