I have a 93 Polaris Indy special 600 xlt and it ides at 4000 rpm and will not come down unless I pull the enrichment lever to quarter of the way

hello usually on any pull start, you have to wind the spring inside,the cover, on my atv i put the rope on the pulley burn the end of the rope and make a point on the end of the rope. put the pulley back in the case, turn the pulley backwards untill you get a lot of tension on pulley and turn the case up wright where you can see hole where rope comes out, turn pulley untill you see end of rope through hole. fish rope out with a pair of tweezers or a pair of themostats

I have 1995 and a 1997 XLT. i have rebuilt the recoil on the 95 and all it takes is the few bolts to take off the cover and take the pipe off. if the 97 is any thing like my dads 94, you may have to pull the engine up a bit, the bottom left bolt cant fully be backed out with out hitting the side of the belly pan retainer, all it takes to pull the motor up is one nut in the back of the motor mount, and one bolt off the front, and it will tip up enough

COULD BE THE THROTTLE SAFETY SWITCH OR THE STATOR. CHECK TO SEE IF IT HAS SPARK AT OPEN THROTTLE, IF SO IT IS THE THROTTLE SAFETY SWITCH. THEN IF U PICK UP A MANUAL IT WILL WALK YOU THROUTH THE TESTS FOR ALL THE OTHER CONPONENTS.
THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT CAN CAUSE NO SPARK.
