I have a Samsung plasma tv with a black screen, but audio is ok. Geek squad believes it's the video y board as he replaced the main board, but no change. Geek squad was unable to get y board.

Fault with its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Did it work with the Y-sustain board replaced? Likely if it did not work then there is an issue with the capacitors on the Y-sustain board and the power board. Check these caps for failure and replace them with the exact type. Likely the caps are blown and cause voltage loss in one or both boards.

SOURCE: Samsung TV, UN60EH6003FXZA, Black screen, has audio. Replaced t-con board and TV worked fine for 5 minutes, then black wave came across screen. Can replace main board, is the new t-con board ruined?

If the new T'Con too have damaged, surely its main power supply regulator board is faulty. Over voltage to T'Con board. Replace it and the T'Con board. Never switch on the set, without proper fittings to T'Con board. Its protective cover should be fitted before you switch On the set. It acts as a shield as well as a heat-sink to the IC at the T'Con. If you switch On without properly fitted, the IC will overheat within minutes and will be damaged. Keep this in mind next time.

Then get your money back and have a TV repair shop diagnose it.

To determine what board is bad your going to need to test the voltages of the power supply..see if you have voltage between 3 and 5 volts on the PSON terminal, if you have that then test the 12 volt supply and if that is ok change the main board
