SOURCE: can the carriage on a dewalt dc618 nailgun be adjusted

The only adjustment on nail guns is for the nail drive depth, the magazine is hard mounted to the nose piece. If you are having problems with the nail clips feeding, first make sure the entire feed path is clear of any nails, parts of nails or other foreign things. Then make sure the nails you are using are fully compatable with your nailgun. Your gun needs 16 guage nails set at a 20-degree angle no shorted than 1 1/4" and no longer than 2 1/2" long. Any deviation from those requirements will only give you a headache worse than what you have now.

SOURCE: how to unjam a paslode f350s nailgun

I use an old driver blade of same model (or close fit). However I grind the back side of the old driver to allow for the metal wedged in the nose. Hold old driver steady with vicegrips. You will need to use large brass or copper hammer (prevent metal splinter ) and strike direct blow so not to break anything (miss and hit gun). Remove the head and cylinder so that you can place the body of the gun against plywood. Place the plywood on concrete floor or solid workbench. May take several hard blows. If you try to use too soft metal to drive down the stuck blade, you risk wedging more metal and making repair impossible for service center. Good luck with your repair.

MY NAILGUN QUIT FIRING NAILS. I LOADED UP TWICE AND USED NAILS BUT AFTER LOADING THE 3RD SET OF NAILS MY NAILGUN WON'T FIRE THEM INTO WOOD. WHAT I HEAR IS JUST A SMALL AMOUNT OF AIR FROM AROUND THE...

Sounds like you may have a nail jam. You didn't specify what type of nailer you have - most finish guns have a latch to open the nose & clear a jam - if it is a framer most of the time it requires a long punch and a hammer to push the driver back in past the jam to clear it.
Let me know if this does not fix your issue.

Wont fire on the first job

Many new nailguns will fail right out of the box due to dry orings or too much oil or wrong nails. Other problems include bent driver due to double fire or driver hit concrete. Easy to check problem. First make sure that the first nail in the rails is in-line with the path of the driver. If not push driver all the way up with thin metal. If driver is all the way up and the first nail is not in position, suspect wrong nails. If nails are ok, remove nails, remove head and pull out the driver to make sure it is not bent. If driver ok, remove headvalve and lube with white grease. Good luck with your projects.

Nail gun- double feed

Nail guns either have a switch or a seperate trigger assembly for two options - automatic, or 'bump' fire, and sequential fire. Sequential firing may be best for you since the nose must be fully depressed and the trigger pulled for each nail.

If you're stuck with bump firing, practice your technique. Double fires often occur when the workpiece bounces back into the nose of the gun; learn to 'bounce' the gun off the material to avoid this second contact.

If you're getting double fires in sequential mode, the problem could be more serious. I keep a can of aerosol silicone lubricant on hand to clean and lubricate the feed mechanism and magazine. Make sure your tool is clean and lubricated before each use, including the 3-5 drops on the air coupling.

Check that your air pressure is not set too high. Overdriving nails reduces their effectiveness and can cause tool malfunction.

This problem could also be caused by worn out O-rings or other parts within the tool. If you're not comfortable servicing the tool yourself, take it in for repair/maintenance work.

Another important thing to remember: With tools like this, you get what you pay for. A cheap nailgun will never function as well as a quality nailgun.

Check the battey then take it out and check the driving rod. On the front of the gun, flip the latch and make sure it is pushed all the way back.
