On my GVA 18.5 tv I have a problem with the DVD player. It rejects the dvd, after close it goes to loading and then straight to open. I keep trying and after 10 or so times, it stays in.

Check the belt on the loader motor. If it's loose, the tray closed sensor switch won't know the tray us closed completely.

SOURCE: Samsung 3650 dvd/vcr player loading problem

Sorry, no suggestion other than don't buy Samsung. That's my conclusion after owning the same model. It worked fine for a while, but now won't load any DVD... usually. Sometimes it will play one, but more often it won't. Mine tries to load ("Loading") for a long time, I hear the DVD spinning, then ultimately the screen displays "This disc cannot be played" or something to that effect.

SOURCE: dvd tray will not stay closed. opens and shuts randomly

i had exactly the same problem on a LG-RH278H resp. a Medion MD 81733. I solved it by opening the micoswitches, cleaning the contacts and streching the springs inside the switches a little. The Problem was, that one of the microswitches stayed conductive even when it was off/open.9acead3.jpg

DVD player not working!

The player uses a laser to check for a DVD. If the laser fails, the player acts like there is no DVD loaded and opens the disc tray so a DVD can be inserted. Sounds like a bad laser.

The DVD player keeps opening and closing and won't play/load DVD's. What could be the problem?

There are sensors which tell the DVD drive that the drawer is closed and that there is a DVD inserted, if these fail there is usually no simple fix, the parts need to be replaced which requires complete dis-assesembly of the TV/DVD, Most people just choose to connect an external DVD as it is cheaper.

JVC Model DR-MV99 tray door keeps opening and closing when trying to insert a DVD disk

This problem was driving me crazy, until I found a solution.
This is what you need to do.
When the tray is open grab the flap door that goes up when the dvd goes in. Hold it down as you the DVD tray goes in. (Its spring loaded) This allows you to have direct access to the front of the tray even when the DVD goes all the way in. Hold the tray in with your finger by pushing in firmly on the far right corner of the DVD tray. The DVD tray will try and come out, continue to hold it in while pressing the eject button on the remote. If you are firmly pressing in on the right corner of the tray it should only take a few times of pressing eject when you see the Disk symbol on the screen and you will here the DVD start loading. When you know that it is starting to load release the front door flap. You can then use the DVD player as normal.
Unfortuntely you will need to do this each time a DVD is loaded.

Dvd player tray keeps opening and closing.

The tray position switch is disconnected or bent from disassembly. I expect one plug wire is off when you put the unit back. The tray switch is mounted so the tray strikes the switch when fully in and fully out.

Cant get cd to work keeps saying loading goes no

Since the details of your problem description is sparse, I presume you are trying to load a DVD - not a CD - to watch on your TV. If in fact you ARE trying to watch a CD on your TV - won't work! A CD can be viewed on your computer, but not the TV. They are not interchangeable.

If however you are trying to load a DVD, the disk may me dirty or damaged. Check that the back of the DVD is free from finger prints, marks, or deep scratches. If it is, you may be having some issues with your DVD player. I sometimes have a similar problem that can be resolved only by opening and closing the drawer of the player several times.

My DVD Player does not reject a DVD. It gets stuck.

I had been closing the door at the DVD slot manually. I found that if I closed the DVD door with the close button, and then opened it with the open button, it no longer got stuck.
