I have an old pack of medical quality Glycerin liquid in a small bottle. I keep it airtight and in a cool place. It has a manufacturing date as the year 2012. Can I continue using it?

In spite of glycerine having preservative qualities the microbial purity can only be guaranteed while the bottle remained unopened and then only for a couple of years, maybe longer if kept in a fridge.

You can of course keep using the glycerine for non-food and non-medical purposes...

The best before date on bottled water

Water seems like a commodity that can't go bad, so what is up with the best before dates that companies are printing on their labels? Do they really mean anything?

After some research I have found that there is no rule from the FDA that water bottle companies are required to print a best before date. What these dates indicate is that the best quality of the water will be before this date. You will find that when you put water in a bottle after a few days or a while the water will start to taste a little different.

Some times if the water tastes different after the best before date this is an indicator of the chemicals from the plastic leaching into the water. This causes some health concerns, but the chemicals don't really need a lot of time to leach into the water. You will notice that nothing grows in a sealed water bottle but within 2 weeks of opening it you should drink it or toss it because it can start to grow bacteria or mold.

How long after the expiry date can McCormick all vegetable bouillon cubes be used

Stock cubes are usually individually sealed in foil and typically do not have an expiry or use by date but instead has a "best before" date, after which the product may or may not lose freshness, condition, taste, visual appeal.

If the product has been cool stored (pantry) and the packaging remains in good condition it should be usable for a considerable time after the date.

Found tuna in pantry, is it safe to eat?

Hi Donna,

The code you have is not the best by date, look on the can and you should see this information.

All unopened StarKist products have a recommended shelf life of up to three years, provided the product has been stored under normal conditions and the can or pouch appears normal and is not damaged.
A "Best By" date is printed on all StarKist Tuna products for your convenience.

How long is ground Coffe good

Absolutely not. Unopened, factory sealed, it'll be good for 3-5 months past the printed date if it's in your pantry, or 1-2 years in your freezer.

Where and who are antique Whiskey collectors/Buyers

How cool is that! Here is a link to a whiskey collectors forum. You can post about it there. You can probably find a buyer there, or at least someone to appraise it and tell you what it's worth.

Hello Dear

Expiration date on mascara shows that it would may be get dry on this date. if you unopened the mascara for a longer time after the expiration date, you would not be able to use that. or may be it would have a bad effect on your lashes.
