I can get a satellite GPS connection and the time is properly updated, but the date is not. I have recently updated the firmware, and everything works, but the date still reads April in 1999. Today it reads April 6, 1999, and advances one day with each passing day.
The "New Location" fix above brought my GPS 60 back to full HELP NUMBER +1 833 272 0777operation. I did reload the GPS software from Garmin but the recovery depended on well charged batteries and as above: turn the unit on
press MENU button
scroll to "New Location"
wait 10 minutes for the GPS to recover
Testimonial: "Thank you for a quick response, but my Earthmate PN-60 is not a Garmin unit and there is no "New Location" option when pressing the MENU button. The only choice I have after pressing the menu button is "Customize Home Page . . .""

I have 2 PN-40s and a PN60. The date on All three of them reset last Nov to the same day in Apr-99. Now that Garmin owns DeLorme I doubt that there will be an update to correct the issue. But, I manually the re-date the name of the track. I have not figured out a way to change the start and finish dates. There may be no solution but it has no effect on the total track length time. The time is always correct because it comes from the GPS satellites. The answer offered on this site is nonsense.
https://support.garmin.com/en-PH/?faq=dX... Used this to update the date problem on my Delorme PN-60 and it worked and put me back in operation. Downloaded the file to my downloads folder on my W10 Computer and unzipped the file. Removed the SD card from the PN-60 (power off) re-inserted fresh batteries, connected to my computer with the data cable for the PN-60, located the device with File Explorer, copied the Update folder from the unzipped file and pasted it to the device with windows explorer. Then powered off and then powered up the PN-60 and let it do its update. Takes a little while but it worked fine and PN-60 now has the current date April 18, 2019.
