It seems a problem with backlit. must be a shorted solid capacitors small rectangular type near the lcd connectors. check with the ohm meter and if shorted just remove it. dont bother to replace it.

your backlight burnt out, this will be a maybe several hundred dollar repair. the screen is backilt by a very expensive flourescent light, without that light, the screen will be black.

This is an indication of damage to the LCD panel itself. Unfortunately this can not be "repaired". The panle itself needs to be replaced. The replacement panel can easily cost almost as much as a replacement TV, so check around for pricing. You may want to try to locate another defective TV that has a good panel but electronic problems and swap the panel.

I lived with it for about six weeks, then took the back off the TV. Just now it seems to be fixed, but I don't know if it will last.
I disconnected the wire leading to the channel up/down, volume up/down and source board, turned on the tv, turned it back off, reconnected the cable, and everything seems fine now.

Sounds like your power board is failing. contact samsung tech support and describe your problem. some parts on samsung have lifetime warranties and the service call is free.

I spent a couple hours in the back of tv and seems can't see anything wrong but there's 3 of the capacitors near the connector. Can you be more Pacific please ?
