You can't do this at all. It will only record from its own freeview tuners.

Hi,
Most PVR's use a small linux micro operating system to run there menus and handle the drives, as such many of the drives used by them are formatted in Ext2/3. You will need to install a driver in windows that allows it to mount ext? drives and then you should have no problem accessing it. The link below will take you to a download site for a free driver, but they do ask you to donate. Please if it works throw them a bone as this is how they keep providing such useful software for all of us.
If this works, copy the files to your computer and then let the PVR reformat the drive, unfortunately when windows doesn't recognize the drive as being formatted, it marks it. That mark is messing with the PVR but after you add these drivers you should have no problem moving the drive back and fourth as it will recognize the drive and it's data in the future.

SOURCE: Can't Record, wont read blank DVD
This Recorder won't work with High speed DVD Media. You need 4x or slower Media
SOURCE: Won't format new DVD-RW disks
i did everyting today to fix this. bought new dvds, name brands different, tried finding codes, called the number. trust me. try this. clean it. thats All i did. cleaned it with a dvd cd cleaning disc, the one with two little brushes on it, nothing special, ran it until i heard the beep, popped my dvd in, they all worked. everyone, im still recording. i ran it about four times. now, if you tried to burn a dvd, and got the error, throw that dvd away. because i tried about ten dvds. after i fixed it, THOSE dvds were no longer usable. dont know why. hope this works.
SOURCE: Trying to write to blank
Some DVD recorders cannot write CD-RW - only DVD-RW (+ and -) as well as DVD-R (+ and -) (this depends on the brand/model). This unit probably does not support CD recording. Try using DVD-RW instead for this machine - see if it records that (do not finalise even if unit prompts you to with an on-screen message prior to ejecting disc).
There are DVD players and recorders which can play CD-RW (mp3, jpegs etc.) but I don't know of any which record this format (a PC CD/DVD-ROM drive can do this though).
Testimonial: "This was the correct solution. I bought the wrong disc pack. I should have been using DVD-RW disc."
