TCL 55X2US. Picture freezing on Netflix ,intermittently, but always from around 4.30..PM

I have bought a new router, an Asus TM AC1900 and changed isp to Aussie, 50/20 mbps. last automatic update was about 4 weeks ago. The TV is set to 5Ghz channel I have also attached an external Android box; no problems. Seems to me that there is a problem with the built-in Android system. Be most interested in your opinion. addendum: I have tried connecting the Tv to the router by cable. No difference. PLUS it is fine if I attach an external Android box by HDMI, using wifi. ( ie a media player using android with Netflix , Kodi and other apps installed) There is no problem with another TV in another room using the Android box. Yesterday it played up in the morning but not the afternoon. Although the Tv is under warrantee, the problem is intermittent , so could be hard to fix.

Can I help you, sorry it's not android issues. not really
why not connect the TV to the router with cat5 Ethernet cable
even 100foot (30meters) cables are sold.

or move TV to the router locations for 1 simple test.
why not tell use if hulu and vudu fail too.?
or any of the 10,000 other streaming sources fail.?

but first we prove wifi is not the cause, as it is 75% of the time..
next is gee , use PC connected to the router run PC with DRM on and test the Netflix.
and see if netlfix works, as it must. for sure Ethernet connected.

now my bad story here in USA , I have x16 channel cable modem
with 200MB/s speed, (yah fast)
wifi fails, easy, if the hood , overloads it easy.
so does Ethernet work or not, and what is your wifi distance?, in feet or meters, TV to router, distance, far is slower.

If Ethernet works ok, then you solved your problems, in 5 minutes work. (amazing how well wired works no?)
lets say a PC works but not the 55" inch tv.
that means the Netflix apps fail.
I have two 55 inch TV here and 2 blue ray boxes
all 4 fail now for netfix.
the reason is simple , all 4, have old apps that maker flat refuses to update the ****** APP, so all 4 fail, in very odd ways
in fact HULU emailed me and told me my APP is no longer supported, do to major updates with the streaming protocols.
in fact all top sites did that.
netflix would flat freeze freeze randow or everytime I fast forward.
hulu whet flat dead,
so all 4 companies failed me. below.
LG , TV1
LG, TV2
sony, blueray
and Panasonic, " (all 4 said so Solly charley) arrgggggg!

the cure in my case, was ROKU. (I use gigalan on mine)
paid $100 for mine, and runs the most new APPS forever.
not one hiccup ever. (3 years on one)
and I run PLEX severs here too, and all that is failure free.

recap.
just one question, 1st
does wired Ethernet fail.?? yes /no???? . a $5 cable. test.

most apps if network links are slow?
shows buffering, does it?

no it is NOT bad ANDROID OS.(it's firmware)
    here is why:
so do any of the other streaming video services fail.
10,000 of them vudu, hulu and endless list.>>????
    yes/no?

1: wifi fails., sure, loves to for sure in crowded neighborhoods.
you do know Wifi is a shared radio channel right?
and 5GHz is worst of all , does not like distance nor walls in the way. (how far is TV from wifi router? this is first)
then run Inssider program to see if the hood is overloaded.
for SURE. if you need photos of me doing that ask.

2: test with Ethernet cable, this is a first first thing test.
why not try wired connection so you can learn gee WIFI is messed up in 5minutes work.??? easy as eating cheery pie.

3: test your netfix account on same router using a PC.
do the test on wifi and on Ethernet, (DRM enabled on PC.)
see what I did there? what is your android box.? I'm clueless.

4: all my smart appliances all fail every one fails for the netfix, hulu and vudo app. is too old, all mine fails. now.
so I have a ROKU box, this keeps apps fresh for ever.

the 4 appliances I have, LG is my 55"LCD TV
the maker flat refused to update the Netflix app.
so is doomed for eternity, same with my sony and my Panasonic.
want to read my hulu email warning me that this is true and why?>

buy ROKU box if Ethernet test fail above.

Roku runs with fresh apps, and is updated daily buy them
at no extra charge. (a big win here)
    see this ,

see that image. of Inssider program (free)
    this is your HOOD.
shows all wifi users and shows 2 things
how many are on your overload changles
and how strong your signal is
and how strong your neighbors are , effectively jamming you.

This program does not not show there jamming devices, like landline phones, baby monitors.
kids, toy radio control cars, copters etc.

in the cases above move your router to channel 13. for less traffic.
    ok>?
or better yet learn to run Ethernet.

SOURCE: Black box appears in TV screen

The problem with the black box happened to me. I had pushed the subtitle button on my remote by mistake. Interestingly enough, as soon as I pushed the SUBTITLE key again, on the remote, the black boxes disappeared.

It also says CC which means closed captioned-- So the bottom on my remote is Subtitle, and then on the subtitle button is cc...

I hope this helps

Netflix often freezes up.

Most often these problems are due more to the network and not the equipment. If you are connecting wirelessly and have numerous users on you home network, bandwidth can become an issue. Signal strength also affects throughput. If that is not the case, then is could be your ISP bandwidth allocation. Many users only have 25 Mb connections. These may be alright, but again multiple users and HD streaming demands can cause buffering and gridlock. Those are the issues you can investigate and control. Others, such as local ISP bandwidth and time of day you cannot. With more and more people "disconnecting" from cable and going to streaming services, the demands on local ISP trucks is becoming critical. An easy analogy is to think about the evening hours on the internet in terms of highway traffic. The main roads around town are easy to navigate at 2am, but what happens at 5pm? Primetime evening hours 7pm-11pm are times when many heavy use services occasionally have buffering/freezing issues. YouTube and Netflix are the most common problem areas as they have the largest user load at these times. Lowering the resolution can improve the continuity, but at a loss of picture quality. The final solution here s for the ISPs to increase bandwidth in their areas of congestion. This takes time and is not keeping up with the ever-increasing demand for bandwidth from the users. If you upgrade you ISP speed, you often get assigned to a different router (IP address) on the network, and this may put you on a slightly less loaded subnetwork. The ISPs cater to those who pay for the higher speeds first when it comes to system upgrades. So either grin and bear it, or shell out a few bucks more and get a little better service. Believe me though, I have 75 Mb internet and even I have issues of buffering, but not as often as in my 25 Mb days.

Asus ac68u router is not working with my powerline adapter. The router is brand new and less than a year old. The powerline adapter are tp link 500mpbs model tl-pa411. I have tried directly connecting

HAVE YOU DONE A VOLTAGE CHECK ON THE ADAPTER? IF NOT, READ WHAT THE VOLTAGE ADAPTER OUTPUT IS. IF THE MEASUREMENT IS DIFFERENT OR DON'T GET A READING AT ALL IT MEANS YOU HAVE AN OPEN CIRCUIT ON THE ADAPTER. MOSTLY MOST WIRES BREAK UNSEEN INSIDE THE PLASTIC INSULATOR NEAR THE PLUG END OR NEAR THE ADAPTER END, WHERE THEY BEND MOST.

TM-G5240 router is slow

Is it the wireless device or your ISP? Location the same on wireless device? Computer same place? Channel the same? Antenna the same? Cables the same? You will never get what is advertised. That would under perfect conditions and the Max it will work. Figure the miles of cables and equipment between you and the ISP and all the places it could degrade a signal. Try a High location for the device, change channels.
