Check drain pump for obstructions. Have a thick towel ready when screwing out plug.
Turn off and unplug the washing machine. Lift the front end and place two-by-four blocks under each foot to keep the front elevated. Have a bucket and sponge handy, any water that's left in the machine will run out.
Clogged Pump
Small items may block the pump in the washing machine. Check the filter and remove any debris or lint. If you don't see the clog in the pump or in the washing machine drain hose near the pump, then it could be stuck in the outlet where the hose connects to the bottom of the tub. If the drain pump is clear of obstructions but is still noisy during the drain cycle, then you need to replace the pump.
Drain Hose
Remove the hoses from the pump and check for any obstructions. Clean out any obstructions from the drain hose.
