Your grinder adjustment ring inside has its tabs broken. Contact Baratza at 877-701-2021 and they should be able to help get a new one.

Sorry its not an answer YET.. Im working on solving it. ( I LOVE THIS COFFEEMAKER) despite the problems!
"I'm now experiencing what the original poster is experiencing, I've fixed the thermal fuse problem twice so far over the last two years. The thermal fuse allow the water flowing through the tube under the plate to heat witch forces it up to the brewing lid, if the fuses blow = no heat= no steam.. we are experiencing EXCESSIVE steam and verrrry slow brewing. Mine takes over an hour to brew half a pot and I have to fill the reservoir twice to get 2\3 of a pot.
It's all going to steam,, suggesting, to me, the temp is getting WAY TO HIGH.
Am I right? does anyone have any more info or clarification.. and what part might fix this.
how is the temp getting too high.. is there a temperature "SWITCH" somewhere?"

You didn’t mention what type of coffee machine. But I’m guessing that one dial his time of groaned and one dial is coarseness of grind. On the time it should be set for the amount of coffee you were making and there should be a chart with the machine tell you how much time per Ounces of coffee. If you were making 8 ounces of coffee which would be one cup the time would be very short obviously but if you’re making an entire pot of coffee which would be maybe up to 60 to 64 ounces it would be a longer time. However with the Grind coarseness knob that would be up to you on if you like strong or weak coffee. The more course to grind the week or the coffee however the more course to grind the less chance you have a burning the coffee when it brews. If you’re going for espresso the grind should be as fine as sand. If you’re going for a mild cup of coffee you might use a fairly course grind. But being as I do not know what machine you have this is all just guess work. Good luck and I hope you make great coffee

The frother doesn't work on my 2nd hand Krups XP2070
The frother usually has a rubber tip. The rubber tip normally has an additional pipe right next to the frother. The pipe's black plastic tip has a very small hole in it. This can get clogged and the frother will not work. Take a pin/needle and unclog this very small hole. The pipe itself can be plugged with milk residue and will need cleaning.

If you take the strainer cup and hold it up to a light, you can see if all the holes are open. If not, this will slow down the brewing process and create a LOT of back pressure which can force the water to flow out through the sides above the strainer cup. Take a needle and open each hole of the strainer cup.

When grinding your own beans, try not to process the coffee too fine or it starts to fit into the holes of the strainer cup. This can also slow down the brewing process. If you grind a batch too fine, you can sometimes get a way with mixing it with a batch of coarse or under-ground beans.

Grinder stalls constantly (motor whirring, but no grinding happening) so I shake it to get it grinding again, but the whirring/no grinding happens over and over. I have to shake the think 5 or 6 times to...
As I can see, what happens is that some coffee grains stucks in the way from the upper pot to the grinding wheel. This is not something usual, but possible if coffee grains are too big and are placed across the entry of the mill. Try cleaning more deep with some old toothbrush. Look for a clean and even surface of the duct.
Other cause might be a loosen mill hub/grinding wheel off the motor shaft, which would require dissassemble of the appliance to be repaired.

Grinding sound in the front end
I had this problem in my 2005 F-150 twice! The first time was covered under the warranty and the second time was out of my pocket! ( close to $500.00!) There is a solodoid u[pp on the firewall that gets water into it then it corrodes the lines and such. Ford dealership replaced 2 valve assemblies, 2 actuator assemblies, and the IWE Solonoid to fix mine. They claim the problem will not come back but that remains to be seen.

I have a Krups Orchestro Model 889 which hasn't been used in a while. Now when I use it, the grinder works and the steamer works but nothing pours into the cup when I activate the machine. I think its an...
I had the same problem with my Krups Orchestro and today picked it up from service. There was nothing wrong except the internal filter was blocked and a manual clean by the technician fixed it. I think I exacerbated the problem by going to the finest grind over time the amount of liquid to the cup got less and less till it stopped.

Now I am using a courser grind - hopefully this will delay the onset of the problem. I was going to try a clean myself - but was deterred by the security oval head screws on the back. The repair centre told me they thought the Krups machine was a great product - and that I should expect many more years. It is essential though to perform maintenance (clean especially) as soon as prompted.

Grinder not fine enough.
The larger the number the larger the grinds will be. Make sure you always change the number while grinding and allow 3 cups before changing the number again. It takes 3 cups to remove the old coffee from inside the grinder.
