Tags once were often on the fake market but this watch should be real. A watch repair shop can open the case and tell you quickly. Its about a $1500 watch new.

SOURCE: Tag Heuer Aquaracer calendar problems

You have to unscrew the knob first then you will be able to pull it out to change the minutes, hours, date. You may have to use a pair of small pliers to initially turn the knob.

SOURCE: My tag heuer aquaracer has a problem: the second

Your TAG is fitted with EOL (end of life) feature. This is the cause of that 4-5 seconds interval movement of seconds hand and thus indicating the time for battery replacement. The timekeeping is not affected by this- it is just warning to replace battery a.s.a.p.
Find your nearest watchmaker and ask for battery replacement.

Do not forget to rate, please.

SOURCE: How to adjust the steel band on my Tag Heuer

For removing or adding links firstly you will have to remove bracelet pins or screws. In case if there are screw on each side of bracelet - you have to use two screwdrivers simultaneously. In case if there are pins - read the rest:
You may or may not have arrows inside bracelet. Arrows are pointing the way the pins must come out. First you have to find out what sort of pins or even screws are used to keep links together (screw ends and pin end may look similar). Examine both bracelet sides and find the side where pin ends have a groove. Start with a tiny screwdriver and try to unscrew one. If it turns, but doesn't come out, that means you have a pins instead of screws. For removing pins the best would be pin removing tool (approx.5GBP on ebay), but it's possible to do the job without it. Take a hardened steel needle and blunt the sharp end to the approx. size of pin end diameter using any sharpening stone or sandpaper. Get an old towel and fold it to make a soft base for work (like small cusion). As you don't have a special bracelet holder you will need a pair of helping hands to hold the bracelet steady upright. You will need small hammer and pair of flat nose pliers as well. NOTE: The pins MUST be driven split end out first, not vice versa. Make sure that the grooved pin ends are facing towel, not the needle and hammer. Now place the watch on the folded towel, take that needle and smallest hammer you have and start driving the pin out using light blows. Do Not hit hard, as you will brake the needle, scratch your watch or even injure yourself. Watchmakers are using 45 gram hammer, so, calculate your strength of blows. After a few punches check if the split end is coming out and when you see that the pin end is coming out long enough - grab it with pliers and pull the pin out with pliers. When pulling, do NOT turn pliers, as pins tend to brake when twisted. Use firm grip and your strength to pull the pin without twisting. After shortening the bracelet or adding extra link(s) make sure that the pins go back EXACTLY the same way as they came out- the blunt end first in the hole and the split (grooved) end last. Before doing that check remaining pins in bracelet to make sure that you put them back from the right side of bracelet. It is recommended to use plastic hammer to drive pins back in or you will scratch or damage bracelet. If plastic hammer is not available use an old toothbrush handle (or some plastic item) as an absorber. Simply put pin into the hole as deep as you can with your fingers, put the toothbrush handle on split pin end and hit handle, not the pin. Make sure that pin ends are flush with bracelet. If needed- hit few more times. Job done! If you do not want to do it yourself, any jeweler will do it in a matter of few minutes.

If the stem does not lock in, will it still be waterproof?

You need to get out your jeweler's loupe (best at 5x & 10x)... and look for the threads to "*****" (ski-rue) down your winder-stem (not a lock).

(Features a Ski-rue down crown & back case)

YOU can pretty much be assured that if the "stem" collar is malfunctioning (broken) the "water-proof" element is compromised (that's most likely the least of your troubles).

More importantly... if the STEM does not properly "tighten" it can
cause further damage against gears which MUST align with it... further it can come all the way out and be lost... Not an inexpensive part.

Best direction would be to get it serviced by an authorized agent.

How do I set the alarm on model wau111a tag watch

  • Pull out the crown to the alarm setting position. The crown is located on the right side of the face of the watch. Pull the crown out until "AL", the alarm indicator, is shown on the watch. Depending upon the model of your Tag Heuer Aquaracer watch, you will either pull the crown out in the first or second position.
  • Select the hours and minuets for the alarm. Once your watch is in the alarm setting position, press the bottom right button on your watch. This will enable you to select the hours and minuets that you want to set the alarm for.
  • Set your alarm. To begin setting your alarm turn the crown clockwise until the desired hour or minutes are displayed on your Tag Heuer Aquaracer watch. If you happen to accidentally pass the alarm time, turn the crown counter-clockwise the get back to the desired alarm time.
  • Save your alarm. When you are ready to save your alarm, simply push in the crown. Once your alarm sounds, to silence it press any button on your Tag Heuer Aquaracer watch.

Battery Charge Life 10 years ago, not being able to afford a real TAG, I purchased a 'replica' Aquaracer Automatic in Bali. I am happy to say that I am now the proud owner of a real Aquaracer Automatic....

    If you go to http://ww2.tagheuer.com/_documents/manuals/EI2246_en.pdf
you should arrive at the user manual for a Tag automatic watch which is similar to yours (an Aquaracer).

You will see that they claim 38 hour running when fully wound.

In view of the very small forces involved and the variations that occur in the manufacturing of the mechanism, I don't think that you should be surprised if there is a variation in running time.

If your genuine watch runs for a significantly less time thean they claim, you may have a reason to complain.
