SOURCE: New memory card will not work

this camera is actually really compatible with the 2gb sd card, anything higher will give you that message. since you have the right kind but still won't work - 2 possibilities:

camera memory ready issue > repair necessary
defective card> try another one

Camera takes pictures without memory card but won't when memory card is in, why

What type and size memory card? The C653 works with MMC and SD cards, 2GB or smaller. Even though SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work with this camera.

It doesn't fit in the computer

Go to a computer store and ask for a "USB to PRO Duo Memory Card Adapter". Stick the card in the adapter plug the adapter into the computer.

Kodak EX 1011 does not recongnize memory card

On the contrary. The EX1011 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and the frame will not recognize it as a memory card. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I have a Casio Exilim. I take only 4 pictures and it says memory is full. It has no memory card in it. Is it possible that it only holds 4 pictures and I need a memory card?

Depending on the image resolution and quality the camera may hold anywhere from 2 to 69 pictures. Obviously smaller pictures take less space and thus you can fit more of them in. However, why buy a 6megapixel camera only to take pictures 2megapixels or smaller? The table on page 249 of the manual gives estimates for the various resolution and quality settings.

You're MUCH better off using a memory card. Even a 2GB memory card should let you take about 500 pictures, and the card can be reused after you download the pictures to your computer.

How to format my camera to fit more pictures on my memory card it is a 16 gig

The A410 works with MMC and SD cards, which are limited to 2GB. While SDHC cards, like your 16GB card, will fit into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You can't format a 16GB SDHC card to behave as a 2GB SD card. You will have to use cards 2GB and smaller.

Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

Memory card saying "full" when its not

Your problem is that you are using an incompatible type of memory card.

Your camera was designed to use SD cards with a maximum capacity of 2GB. It cannot use larger capacity models, and is also incompatible with the later SDHC cards.

SDHC cards are the same shape and will fit your camera, but have differences beneath the skin and so won't work properly in your camera. Without any memory card in place your camera uses internal memory; it's then only by lucky chance that your camera has sufficient SDHC compatibility to allow you to transfer the internal memory image to the SDHC card when you subsequently insert it into your camera.

Your only solutions are to either use an SD card with a maximum capacity of 2GB or to replace the camera with a later model which is fully SDHC compliant.

Is the smallest chip an adapter as well?

The smallest card pictured there is a 2GB microSD card, which is an actual memory card. The biggest is an SD adaptor the microSD to fit into and the second biggest is a miniSD adaptor.

Computer won't read memory stick

SCMG - You won't be inserting it into your modem. But if the card fits snuggly and it seems to fit right, then you're probably where you need to be.

For all of you - it may be easier to connect the camera directly to the computer to download the pictures. All cameras come with the appropriate cable to connect the camera to a USB port. All you need to do is make the connection and then put the camera into "review" mode to view the pictures and Windows should automatically see the camera and ask if you want to download the pictures off of it.
