SOURCE: AS 300 electric stapler--pulled out

What has most likely happened is part of a staple is stuck in the front portion of the stapler where it forms the staple and presses it into the stapler.
You would most likely have to remove the stapler, and remove the binding staple from the stapler head.

SOURCE: Size of staple to install roll insulation in wall cavities.

It would seem that 9/16 is a bit long to attach canvas and may even penetrate through to the working surface unless the backer board is much thicker then 9/16.

1/4 or 3/8 may be more suitable.

Good luck

I have a Stanley professional 69-500 I put the Staples in and the handle will not release all the way down what could be the problem

Double check your using the correct size staples, there are a lot of different sizes and types out there. I've made that mistake.
The most common reason is that it has jammed on a staple. remove the staples and the rod that holds them in place. See if the stapler will work when empty. Keeping you hand away from the trigger arm Carefully look to see if there if a staple jammed in the release slot. Sometimes you can clear jams with a small, flat blade precision screwdriver.

Stanley Sharpshooter electric staple gun

Strip it down and clean it out, or at least get an airline in there. It is either rust or something inside breaking down.

How to fix the spring in my Stanley electric stapler tre550

  • Step #1 - The first step would be to release the trigger and then unplug the device. If you notice that your gun is jammed, never try to dislodge it by repetitively pulling the trigger. The internal safeties of some models are capable of preventing the device from firing. Once you've released the trigger, unplug your corded model, and turn off the switch if the gun has one. If you're an owner of an electric model, on the other hand, you can simply remove the battery pack. Similarly, the pneumatic staple guns should be released from the air hose.
  • Step #2 - Now would be the time to remove the staple clip. Most models have a small release lever that's located at the bottom of the magazine, which you should pull and see the magazine get unclipped. After that, you can pull on the magazine until it's disconnected from the tool.
  • Step #3 - The next step is to take the needle-nose pliers and remove the staples. Some jams will be caused by the failure of staples to get properly ejected from the magazine - they might even be squashed by the other staples in the magazine. In other cases, the staple has left the magazine but only partially, and is stuck in the gun's opening. No matter what your particular situation is, take a pair of pliers and pull out the staple from the place it's stuck at. Do it gently as hasty action might cause damage to the magazine.
  • Step #4 - As we said, the discharge area is another place where the staples might get stuck at. For some models, you won't have to use the pliers - a tap on the base of your model might be capable of clearing the jammed staple. Check the user manual to find out if your model can do this.

My Stanley PHT150 is jammed and I cannot remove the staple channel. The instructions do not address a jammed staple channel so, how does one remove it?

Hi Dave,

Nice and easy this one.... all you've got to do is remove the chrome coloured pin at the handle end. This then allows the magazine to be removed by pulling it from the front end. Just make sure that you've removed the pusher (Where you feed the staples in) from the back first

I have a jammed staple in a bostitch staple gun ....how do I remove it?

Depending on the model that you have, for the manual guns, you can engage the driver 1/2 way and use a precision screwdriver to free the errant staple. However, if it's the electric model, you'll need to unplug the tool, remove the magazine mounting screws, and clear all material from the feed tube, this should also remove the lodged staple as well. If not, rap it against a wooden surface to free it then reassemble. I suggest that you unload your tool between uses to keep the rigidity of the spring up to OEM specifications. A weak spring is usually the cause of these jams.

My stanley model tr 250 seems to be jammed up and won't load staples

Generic comment.

There should be a pin or a screw (probably with a locking nut) on the business end of this machine. Find it, remove it and the track should pull down allowing you to clear the jam.

I hope this helps
