SOURCE: Magenta printing as yellow

Well, first off, are the alignment, and nozzle check sheets looking good? If not, then work on that. If so, then we have a problem. Try creating a test sheet in Word. Make red, yellow blue & black text and see if anything else prints wrong. Get back to me!

SOURCE: Printer will not use cyan

Well I just bought a brand new Kodak 8500 and purchased a few boxes of the 25 1400 print kits after getting it I thought it would be as easy as the Kodak Easyshare 4x6 printers BUT thought different after trying my first box of 25. I got 10 good prints out of 25 due to paper jams after 2 passes. I did the alcohol thing on the LED and sensor and that worked good for 1 full box of 25.
I then loaded a box of 50 8500 ribbon and paper same problem more paper jams after 2 passes wasting more $$$.
I did the whole routine as stated above and after taking the whole darn thing apart I did 1 more mod. I turned the potentiomter 1/2 of a turn but then drilled a small 1/2 hole in the forward plate where that pot is and reamed it out to over 3/4 on and inch thus if you need to make further adjustments you do not have to take the whole thing apart again, just the lower front cover. Because when the front cover is removed with the 5 screws and not 4 the whole darn circuit board falls out and its hard to get the plastic protective strips covering the top and bottom to align back up to slide it back in place. SO with the hole drilled there you do not have to bother with that ever again. After doing the les than 1/4 of a turn I still had a problem and yes I did put it all back together,
BUT at this point I removed the lower front cover and had access
to the pot again and moved it another 1/4 of an inch clockwise installed the 2 screws tried again and I ran a whole box of 50 without a problem.
I don't know if I'll have anymore problems but If I do I'll post it.

SOURCE: printer does not print magenta and cyan. Change

The print head is clogged.Try unclogging manually.Open the cover and first remove the ink cartridges. Then open the holder and remove the print head.Run hot tap water and put the print head with the nozzles up to stream water.Hold that 5 mins then turn the print head around
with the nozzles down.Hold that for every color of 5 mins. Then put the print head in hot water with the nozzles down.Left it water about 15 mins and then you must very nice to dry. When the print head dry put it in printer and start cleaning. If this not help you need to replace the print head. It's part number is QY6-0049.

SOURCE: Canon Pixma yellow color problem

Either the ink you are using is not going to give the color you want, or you have print heads that are blocked.

I have hp designjet 450c..the problem in printing.while printing it prints copy of the image also and not clear.i dnt know whts the problem..please help me..

That usually is caused by clogged or damaged printheads. There are 4 printheads, Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. When you replace the printheads you need to calibrate the machine so the colors line up with one another.

HP Officejet Pro K8600 won't print in color, just in black

Ink levels are an estimate. They are approximated according to how much color might have been used. You may be out of all the color inks, they may be dried out or clogged. There should be a head cleaning operation for the printer, but it uses ink too.

My printer is reading check alignment, is it because my color cartridge is out of ink?

No, that's not what it means.
If printer heads are not aligned, CMYK colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and blacK - the usual colours in a printer) will not print in the correct place.
Assume a dark grey dot is to be printed. For this C, M and Y colored dots have to be placed exactly on the same spot. But if heads are not aligned, the three color dots will not be exactly in the same place. Therefore you will see Cyan, magenta and Yellow dots adjacent to each other instead of one dark grey dot.
It is always a good idea to align the print heads every time a new cartridge is installed.

HP All-In-One 4500 prints YELLOW when Black is SELECTED Could this be a PRINT HEAD PROBLEM?

Hi,
The inkjet printers print colors as they combine the major 4 colors contained in the cartridges CMYK (or said in words cyan, magenta, yellow and black) in some proportion.
If you print black the printer gets ink from the black cartridge only. If the black cartridge is empty some devices start to print black as a combination of the colors in the color cartridge - for example gets some of the cyan, gets some of the magenta, gets some of the yellow.
In your case maybe some of the other colors are empty too (or the nozzles are clogged) and the printer cannot prepare the correct mixture of colors to start printing black.
I suggest you to change both black and color cartridges.
Hope this helps.

Im using hp deskjet 2660 cartridge says INTRODUCTORY HP TRICOLOR PRINT CARTRIDGE (colors) cyan magenta yellow 60 it's not producing yellow images that i printed are in pink or purple i...

This model printer has only two slots for ink cartridges. One is for a black ink cartrigde and the other is for a tri-color cartridge which contains cyan, magenta and yellow inks.
This tri-color cartridge has run out of yellow ink, you need to replace this tri-color cartridge.

I have an HP Phototsmart C4280 that is printing everything in pink. Any idea why?

This is the cartridge color problem, if you've refilled the cartridge, there must be proportion problem (magenta/yellow/cyan), or if you print dark colors like green or blue (which uses cyan and yellow mostly) and never use the red or other color (magenta and black), cyan and yellow might have finished up. If you can refill it proportionately, go ahead, but i would suggest you to purchase new cartridges and install.
Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Printer Designjet 110 Plus not working

Ink supplies Description HP part number 11 Black Printhead C4810A 11 Cyan Printhead C4811A 11 Magenta Printhead C4812A 11 Yellow Printhead C4813A 10 Black Ink Cartridge C4844A 82 Cyan Ink Cartridge C4911A 82 Magenta Ink Cartridge C4912A 82 Yellow Ink Cartridge C4913A
alot of printers now if the ink in the cartidge is the first ones placed in the system from the box are those that are only half full if not less depending on the maker but I know HP only fills their cartidges only just under the half way make but the printer sees it as a new cartrige because of the chips programming.

Have you tryed to turn the power of and let is sit for about 5 mins and turn it back on with the same result? (ushally a yellow error light is on)

Also if you can find the settings to only print in black and white on the printers properties that might also work as well for a temp fix.

But ushally once one ink runs out it likes to do that you where correct with the "is it because of the finished color cartidges.." either that or the carts all have finally expired.

Nice printer by the way.

But your best way to do it would be to replace the color carts and if not reasonable to do now there is also a way to reset the color carts so that the printer thinks that there is ink in them as well.

hope this helps you a bit if you need more info please let us know.
