Sorry, but that's not very specific.

Most USB memory sticks (aka thumbdrives) are "plug-and-play." Meaning you stick them in a USB host socket on a PC (MAC or Windows or Linux, for example) and they automatically get configured and are available for use - just as you would use a computer hard drive.

If that is not happening, then there is a good possibility that the stick is not properly formatted. If it is recognized, but you cannot access the data, then you may need to run the FORMAT utility on your computer. Be aware that this will erase any data currently on the stick.

If you KNOW that you have data on the stick, and it is important to you, then there are data recovery companies that will do their best to access the data (for a fee).

SOURCE: memory sticks

First you have to make sure there is enough room on the memory stick. Plug in the USB stick and open My Computer. You should see a "removable device" on E or F. That is your memory stick. Right click and select properties. It will tell you how much free spce there is. Now check the size of the powerpoint presentation the same way: Navigate to it and right-click.

If there is enough free space, you're almost there. Right-click on the powerpoint file (ending in .ppt) and select copy. Then go back to my computer and open the F:\Removable device icon. Once inside the device, right-click and hit paste. You should see the .ppt file being copied onto the memory stick. When it is finished, right-click the F device again and hit eject.

SOURCE: I need to know the steps to save data onto usb memory stick from accounting program

I suggest that you save your data with Simply Accounting and know where you save it. In window explorer, find the file you saved and copy it to the USB memory stick. You should see the USB memory stick as another drive in Windows Explorer. After the copy is complete, Click the USB memory stick and you should see the file. This way, the copy (back up) is confirmed.

Re MiBody 360 Personal scale. downloaded software successfully (Windows XP) inserted USB into scale and stepped on . waited for a few seconds then put USB in PC but no data transferred (PC recognised USB...

Make sure that you have selected USR1 each time you weigh yourself.
When you stand on the scales it records your measurements against that user ID and holds them in the internal memory of the scales.
When you have taken a few readings and when you are not standing on the scales, insert your USB memory stick (any memory stick will do) and press the SET button. The scales display "USB" and write the data out to the memory stick and gives you a message "END" afterwards. When you insert the memory stick into your computer you can read the data into the Homedics software

Says error on formatting memory card.

Hi,
The camera may display a FORMAT ERROR if the inserted media is not formatted or if the media was formatted on a computer. This error may also display if the inserted media is not supported by the camera.
Try to remove and re-insert the Memory Stick media several times.
Make sure that the inserted Memory Stick media is compatible with the camera. DSCW310 Camera is compatible with the Memory Stick Pro Duo upto 32 GB.
You may also try formatting the Memory Stick media to resolve the issue. Format the Memory Stick media using the FORMAT option in the camera menu.
Formatting will erase all stored data, images, movies, etc., from the Memory Stick media. FORMAT option is available in the Memory Card Tool Menu of the Camera which is in the Settings Menu. Please back up the data by inserting the Memory Stick in the Computer Memory Card slot.
This may also happen if the terminals on the Memory Stick media are dirty. Remove the Memory Stick media from the camera and use a soft dry cloth or pencil eraser to clean the contacts. Make sure there are no residual particles on the Memory Stick media before re-inserting it into the camera.
The data on the Memory Stick media or the Memory Stick media itself is damaged. Try using a different Memory Stick media in the camera.
This should resolve the issue. If the error continues to display, the media may need to be replaced or the camera may require service.
