SOURCE: NO ICE - IC6

Mine was slow-to-none in ice making for a couple of years. One day for the first time I used the built in water dispenser. The long copper line feeding water was full of air gaps. After I bled that out, it has been perfect ever since.

SOURCE: HOOK UP OF ICE MAKER TO THE WATER LINE

At the back bottom of the fridge there will be a coil solenoid. If your appliance is ice make ready this will be there, these coils have a bracket that has fitting for a water connection. Get a 1/4 tube with a ferrell and nut. slide them on the tube and connect to the fitting.

SOURCE: Ice Maker won't work...water line frozen?

HOLLOW ICE FOLLOWED BY FROZEN WATER CHUTE ARE THE FIRST SIGNS THAT THE WATER INLET VAVLE IS OR HAS FAILED, IT CAN ALSO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ICEMAKER BY BURNING OUT THEN TIMING GEAR DUE TO INSUFFIENT WATER OR FLOODING IN ICEMAKER WITH TOO MUCH WATER

SOURCE: Maytag MSD 2432GR Water not feeding into Ice Maker

one possible solution is that the ice maker water valve has failed (solenoid). I would try switching the wires on the water valves and see if water goes into the ice maker when you push the water dispenser button, if it does the valve is ok. If you go this far go ahead and fill the ice maker with water ( about half to two thirds full) switch wiring back as first found and see if maker will freeze and dump ice, if it does ok, if not the problem is probably in the ice maker.

My Maytag ice maker stopped working; ice on doors & draw; What do you think might be causing this?

As odd as this sounds, my Maytag MFX2570AEM stopped making ice. I could feel ice in the tray but it suddenly stopped ejecting or making more even when the bar was in the correct position.

I read many articles telling me the motor was dead, the gears for removing the ice from the tray needed to be replaced, etc. THEN, I read one person who responded that his issue was resolved with a HAIR DRYER. It turns out something about the unit had frozen due to water getting on it, etc.

Sure enough, after blowing a hair dryer into the ice maker for 5-7 minutes I replaced the ice maker drawer and in about a minute it ejected the ice and filled the trays with water again. It has been making ice ever since.

The green light flashing is a fault code, usually for a no, or long fill situation, GE has nixed this electronic ice maker and returned to one that looks similar but is non electronic, while your ice maker is probably at fault you may actually have a separate issue causing the ice maker to display a fault code, such as a spent water filter, or low water pressure, or even a bad water valve on the fridge it's self. Sears model KSRA25FKBL00 How do I remove the icemaker to replace it

Hi there,

Well you can please follow the below steps -

1. Ensure that the water going into the ice maker is shut off. If there is not a valve on the water line going to the refrigerator, check under the house, because there is usually a shutoff valve there.
If there is no shutoff valve for the water line, which is rare, it is possible to cap off the water line with a screw on end cap. If this is the case, you would have to shut the water off completely in the house, cap off the water line, and turn the water back on.
2. Remove the container that holds the ice, as well as any plastic shelves.
3. Remove the screws holding the ice maker in place. There are usually only two and they connect the icemaker to the inside of the freezer.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness that is hooked up to the ice maker.
5. Disconnect the water line from the ice maker.
6. Remove the ice maker.

Please post comments for more help or information........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Water line from house supply sprung a leak just before going into the ice maker control unit in the lower right cornor of the frig. After replacint the water line the water did not flow into the control...

What once was a leak is now no flow and no response when trying to turn on ice maker? Is the valve where the ice maker line taps into turned back on? If it's back on, first turn it off, take loose water line as close to ice maker as possible, then have someone else turn valve at tap slightly on while you watch for water flow. If no flow, start back-tracing your connections until you find the blockage. Most water connections of this type have a in-line filter. Is it clogged? If you have water pressure as close to the ice maker as you can test, next you may need to troubleshoot the ice maker it's self. Let me know?

Ice maker not working

Check to make sure the water line is properly hooked up and on (this would run from the general area of the ice maker out the back of your fridge, down, and through a pipe into the floor or wall. If this is not hooked up or present, your ice maker has no way to get water) if the water is on at the fridge, make sure it's on where the pipe is connected to the water line is as well.
Second, check to see if the "full" bar is in the proper position. This should be somewhere in front of where the ice dispenses, if it is in one position and it's not working, move it to the other position.
If these general solutions do not work, please respond with your make and model and any other information on the malfunction you can give us!

Hooked up water line and ice maker, water working notice maker. Any ideas?

Make sure wire loop extending out from the ice maker over the ice bin is pushed down. Up turns the ice maker off.

Without more info, I can't diagnose further.
Stick finger in ice tray where ice freezes. Is there water in there. No, check solenoid valve and water line to ice maker (kinks). Is there ice cubes in ice tray? Is ice maker pushed fully in? All wires to ice maker on back and underneath connected?

If this information was useful, please select YES to the first two rating questions. Good Luck and thank you!

NO ICE - IC6

George, the ice maker will cycle about every 2.5 hours. Sometimes it takes a couple cycles to prime the lines. You can remove the white cover of the ice maker. On the module you will see two ports, one marked L and another marked V on the left side. Take a insulated jumper wire and jump these two terminals. You are now sending 120V to the valve. See if the water starts coming in. Also make sure the bailing arm is down. Catriver...post back.
