I have a Kenwood tall fridge (KTL60X15) which developed similar faults. It was beeping every time the door was opened (the display showed 88 and all other buttons were lit) and it would beep again when closed. Turns out the wiring from the fridge body to the door had worn out and by the time I discovered the problem 3 of the 5 wires had broken. The wiring can be round under the plastic covers at the top of the door and at the top of the fridge body.. I replace the wiring which was easy to do as it comes as a wiring harness kit (HK1495740) and adjusted how the wiring goes across the top hinge by making a small modification to the plastic covering on the top of the fridge body. So hopefully it won't wear out (at least now I can see it and keep an eye on it).
Hi
I have a Kenwood ksbs4dx17 American fridge that keep showing doors open when they are closed anyone can help
Thanks
Hi Both - I had this problem this week. Fridge is under warranty.
Engineer visited today and said it's the wiring loom to the door display.
On inspection part of it was worn meaning power being disconnected during opening & reconnecting on closing. The reconnecting of the power lights up the display but it looks like an error.
He's ordered a new wiring loom as he suggested fixing it doesn't work well.
Until the loom is replaced he's unplugged the door connector to stop the beeping, stop the display being turned off/on 50 times a day and reduce electrical risk.
Hope this helps - A
SOURCE: Samsung Fridge can't get temp down
it is probably the door switch. I just pulled the switch from a rb2055 and disassembled the switch. one of the contacts is broken.
If you unplug the fridge and plug it back in, the light should work. push in on the switch button with the door open. If the light does not go out, switch is bad.
pry the switch gently out with screwdriver, unplug it and get a replacement.
If you are watching this I can also probably tell you how to jerry-rig it to run while waiting for replacement swicth.
SOURCE: Fridge/freezer beeping
There is a lever switch usually above the door (when door is in open position) on the fridge cabinet. Not on the actual door. The beeping should stop if this lever is pressed. If the door is positioned correctly it would depress this lever when closed. It may be that the door adjustment is slightly out. If the beeping does not stop when depressed, then your printed circuit board (located usually above the door) is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Open door and turn power off then on twice. Then press the Overtemp reset.

Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work
it back and forth a little until it wants to take off again. Keep me informed

Hi John, I have the same problem with my kenwood fridge, did you find a solution to this problem?
Tried all sorts of things - the current solution is to put tape over the little lever inside the freezer door and keep it held down. Seems the freezer door should hold it down when it shuts but it doesn't do it properly hence the beeping.
Hi
Here is the solution: We had the problem of the Kenwood american style fridge freezer would not stop beeping despite anything we did. The solution was fooling the touch controls.
The touch control is not pressure touch. When you press the control it is not pressure activated, it is a sensor touch ( does not matter how hard you press it). i.e it is a sensor not a switch.
By putting a magnet across both the "Fridge" and "Loc Sec" controls together it confuses the control board and stops the beeping.
A long fridge magnet does the trick. Simply put the magnet across both the "Fridge" and "Loc Sec" controls controls will stop the beeping and then once the beeping starts again take the magnet off. Sorted!
Thank you Harish Senick! It works!
Thank you Harish Senick, it does work! It's been driving me up the wall, the constant beeping. I watch my soap programmes in the kitchen where the fridge is and have to turn the volume up so I don't hear the constant beeping. I was just googling an engineer to come out and fix it when I came across your post, so I thought I'd give it a go, and it works a treat. Silence! And on my birthday too, you've made my day!!
