Where do l bet a manual for a frsmhand mug welder

Best bet to check you buy a generator to run your welder safely is check the power rating on your welder. Welders need a good power source else they will not run properly.

the liner inside the whip to gun may be dirty,remove it and soak in varsol for a few hours ,dry it and try again

Yes, a welder can TIG weld it.

BUT, they MIGHT want the engine disassembled and just the bare case to weld, or they MIGHT want the engine out of the frame.

Best bet is take it to different welders and see what they say.

Could be something as simple as worn brushes, dirty slip rings, or a bad bridge rectifier. If you know how to check them, these are all something you could fix. If it's anything beyond those, you're best bet would be take it to a repair facility. I repaired welders for 18+ years. (just an FYI)

You badly need a service manual, you might be able to get one at the Thermal Arc home page.
Since it blew the input power breaker and let off a bit of smoke we'll take as given that something in there shorted. Inverter welders like this have a rectifier section, then an inverter section, then another rectifier section before the torch. I'd bet a little money that what went pop was one or more of the SCRs in the rectifier section. You really need the manual to do anything useful to this machine, pay particular attention to the repair sections where they talk about cold checks before powering the machine on again, it'll save you hours of replacing parts.
