2 year old 55" UN55JS7000, won't stay on, clicking on and off continuously. Opened case, capacitors on the power supply all look fine.
Caps wont go bad in a 2 year old TV. You probably have a shorted LED in the backlight. I would start there.
I do warranty work for several makes and have seen capacitors bad in sets that were a couple months old, some of the Chinese caps are really bad quality manufactures are using
I never saw this model listed in the database for counterfeit or substandard caps. At least not this model and series. Id expect that in an older series but not a flagship SUHD. Interesting.
So I put my DMM on the output of the power supply. Printed on the board, it says standby is 8V, and On is 13V. Meter shows On = 12.83V and STB = 9.0. Seems like the Power supply board is ok. Most of the online posts say most likely cause is the main board, but I'd like to confirm somehow......
Turns out it WAS the power supply board. Shorted diode. LED's don't usually go out that soon......lots of advice on the internet, most of it wrong. Other people said it had to be the main board. Right.
Glad to hear you found it.

It is the lamp cover. There is a switch behind it and the post on the cover will slip off the switch. If this switch is not depressed, the tv will go off. No lamp light flashing or anything

Did you find out if that would solve the problem? I was really excited to learn that all I needed to do was change out the capacitors but after installing 4 it continued to click. I to removed the cover to the and found the relay where the noise is coming from

In almost all cases where the set is taking a long time to turn on and then turning off it will be the Power Supply board that will have bulging capacitors, usually three to five. Look on the upper right side of the Power Supply and look for any blown caps. You can replace these caps and you will be fine. Now the other cause can be the Power Switch is shorting out. You can disconnect the the Power Switch but not the IR sensor and then turn ON the set with your TV remote and see if this stops the problem. If you are not skilled in component level repair on the Power Supply board then buy a new Power Supply board and install it.

Call Samung customer service, they are doing this repair for free. I had the same problem at 11 months, they replaced the power supply board under warranty. At 2 years I had the exact same problem again and this time they replaced 2 - 50 cent capacitors on the power supply board. It took the repair man less than an hour and he had the replacement capacitors on hand. The original board and the replacement board they gave me had capacitors that were faulty. Hopefully these new capacitors will last. I have to say that I was thinking (no more samsung products for me) but I got excellent customer service and they admit that they had a faulty product and they accepted responsibility.
