Hello, Barbara -

For the best rodent extermination find a local extermination business and hire them to take care of your rodent problem, including finding all the places where rodents probably enter your home and sealing them up.

Read about rodent control here:

And, Fixya answerer Steve is correct. You did not purchase any rodent control product from Fixya.com.

SOURCE: animals keep chewing up the gas tank and fuel pump

This is a very odd situation. Actually I have never heard of such a thing happening. Are you sure it is rodents doing this? Ask yourself why they are attacking your truck. Is there something that is drawing them to your truck? Is there a dead animal under there somewhere? How are they getting in your garage? Something is just not right here.

SOURCE: Hi, My Hundyai i 20

yes i have a thought,,, on poison though!!!! think on this for a minuet,,
poison's dont discriminate,,,ok,,you may get the rat,,then the owl eats the rat,,,the owl then dies...then the crow eats the owl,,,that also dies,,
then your neighbour's cat eat's the crow,,,that then dies,,,,,and what if any of them fed there young ones on this poisons rat??? they all die!!!
and i would not wish it on my worst enemy to watch an animal die from poisoning,,it takes hours or days to die from poisoning,,,in horrible pain!!
please think on this first before you use poison again,,,,,
im not trying to make you feel gilty or sad,,i hate rats too, i found the ultrasonic system works at close ranges,, but an engine block could stop the sound so you may be better using a fuw not just the one!
the more you plug in the better the cover you get,,,they do work!
but so will an air gun? and its much more fun shooting rats!
its faster than poison,,,and much safer than poison as you only get what you hit,,the rat!,,im sorry if i upset you that was not my intension

Does anyone have any ideas why my guinea pig died? She was pregnant and seemed healthy but went past her due date without giving birth.?

How old was she? Going past her due date by a week may not have been the cause (I had a female that delivered two weeks late!), but without a veterinarian doing a post-mortem exam, there's really no way to know. Guinea pigs are very good at hiding health problems until they are critical, so there's a possibility she could have developed ketosis without showing it.

Can i feed my hamster rat and mouse food?

If this was the other way around, I would say it'd be okay for a couple of days. Hamsters have a pretty advanced digestion system and can get bloaty and sick when fed the wrong things. But never fear if you google hamster food you can find some more ''organic?" supplements until you can make it back to your local store. Rats/Mice on the other hand are made to hoard their food. They don't stuff it in their cheeks, although mine likes to sometimes it seems, they like to hide their food. Doing this they burn more energy and need a higher energy/protein diet.

I don't buy rat food, I make my own. I did the same with my hamster too with the store bought mix. Here's a list from my memory you can give hamsters that you may have around the house.

Carrots
Apples
Granola (Good for teeth!)
Cooked red meat (like hamburger meat)
Water Chestnuts
Nuts
Shelled almonds (more fun!)
Bread/Toast (My friend made peanut buttered toast for her hammy)
Fish (fully cooked!)
Eggs (Scrambled/Boiled no fried)
Cheese (in moderation)
Mealworms and crickets (you probably don't have these but for future reference :) )
Dog Biscuits (Try to stay away from some high in protein, and it's good for their teeth!)

Hope that helps!

I have to feed mice to snakes at work?

Good luck. I would not like to be put in a situation like that. When we get animals that we intend to process we give them names that imply what they will be. Like sirloin for a cow or bacon for a pig. Although these animals become pets, we are always calling them for what they will become.

Don't like killing animals... so how do one get rid of mice... or rats... ?

This is probably way too late, but...

It will take some effort on your part. You can buy a safe (non-poison) rodent repellent on Amazon. That's only part of the solution, though: you need to make sure that there are no openings to the outside that a mouse could get through (an adult mouse can squeeze through a hole a bit smaller than a dime). If you live in an older home, it may have roof ventilation that is open to the outside; mice can climb very well, so to open vents would need be covered with screen.

You can also get live traps - bait them with some peanut butter or sunflower seeds, and leave them before you go to bed where you see there has been activity (gnawed objects or droppings). The next morning, take the traps to a park or meadow/woods and let the little intruders go. Try and relocate them a good distance from your house, or they'll find their way back. IMPORTANT! Don't keep a mouse in a live trap any longer than you need to 8-10 hours max) or the stress will kill them.
