Krups coffee maker constantly beeping, even when no water or not turned on, when making coffee it beeps turns off then beeps and turns on - getting to the point of just unplugging to stop beeping.

Hi,

The machine will not run if the covers /for the coffee grinder, the filter basket and the machine itself) are not properly closed.
It will beep and stop running if it is turned on when one of the covers is open or if one is opened before the end of the cycle. The beeping will stop as soon as the cover is closed.
To start the machine again, press the ON button.

you have to take the pot totally apart.
only a trained tech should attempt this.

sounds like your selection sensor has got a wire broken. if you look at the wire bundle coming off of carrier, three of those are for selection sensor. 1 blue, 1 red, and 1 black. one of those are most likely broke from continuous movement of carrier back and forth. common problem on this machine. that repair would have to be done by a tech however, as it is not easy.

It sounds like the water sensor has gone out, that is probably causing a short that is preventing the pot from tuning on. If the sensor is not bad then it is probably a short in the circuit board itself. You will need to contact krups to have it replaced under warranty. If it's not under warranty then check with a small appliance shop for an estimate, however in most cases it is just cheaper to scrap it and buy a new coffee pot.
