After pressing "OK," the machine oddly spits water out of the steam nozzle instead of where the coffee comes out.
I suggest that you use the commands to "close the machine" for transport and then re-start it as if it was new. I had to get rid of my EA8250 after only 2 years as mine stopping working as well. I tore it apart and saw a lot of wear for such as short time. My grinder also stopped. KRUPS says you cannot use Oily beans but only after you buy the machine.

Clean the unti - and do not add salt. I live in a major hard water city...and was amazed at how much dirt the tank collected. I tried adding salt to to stop the spitting, which did make a lot more steam, but did NOT stop teh water spit. I also noticed, with salt added, water in tank would only last 4-6 hours, not the 18-24 hours it should. I just figured it out, and now mine works great again, and does not spit. I cleaned the water tank throughly, several rinses, then wiped out entire inside. If you want it to work like new, you have to keep your tank as clean as new. I am going to start filtering my water that I put in with a double pantyhose I made simply so there no more dirt ~ a clean tank will fix the problem, it did mine :)

Remove the nozzle on the end of the steam wand, them open valve to see if the steam wand works, if yes use a paper clip to clear holes on nozzle, if no remove steam wand where it is connected to the valve then open wand(steam will be spraying be careful). If you have steam there then clean wand and nozzle.

Yes, you're machine is identical to the xp7240. Look up the post on leaking xp7240 and follow the instructions on how to open the machine and fix the valve.

Hi
There are 2 knobs in the bean hopper. The small knob is turned to the max (+) side and needs to be turned back 1 mark, then try again.

I have the same problem. Do anyone have an answer what the problem can be? Thanks
Did you find the fix to this?
Try using vinegar in place of the water. You may need to let it set for a few hours or even overnight to allow the vinegar to break up any mineral deposits that are most likely causing the problem. In order to do this make sure the machine is cooled down and unplugged from the power outlet. Remove the reservoir tank and dump out the water then refill with vinegar. Place the vinegar filled reservoir back on the machine and plug it in. Turn on and see if anything happens. You should also blow air into the nozzle that is doing the spewing to force any trapped air back into the reservoir. That will also force vinegar to backflow into the clogged areas. If that works you should run a few cycles to allow the vinegar to descale the internal parts. After the vinegar has had a chance to work (at least an hour) you can dump out and rinse the reservoir tank and refill with water then run through several cycles to rinse out any deposits or debris knocked loose and to flush out the vinegar.
