Was running my samsung DV5451A model dryer on the wrinkle away cycle and it stopped running midway through. The check filter light was on and this was cleaned and replaced. There is also a timer icon lit up on the control panel. The control panel is working and I can change the options on the dial but when I press start nothing happens.
There are usually 2 thermal fuses in dryer circuits. One is on the
heater housing and will blow in an overtemp condition around 310-350F.
The other is on the blower or exhaust housing and will blow around 200F
Make absolutely sure the 2nd one is continuous and not intermittently
functional. This will definitely stop the motor from functioning
Below is a diagram for an older model (LER4634). Your dryer has some
additional terminals probably because it has additional drying cycle
options.
The diagram may be more readable when copied and pasted into a plain
text editor such as Notepad or another editor with non-proportional
fonts

Example: For the Auto - High Heat Dry cycle, the following terminals are continuous:

(of course since BK-BU is continuous and BK-R is continuous, then BU-R is also continuous.
This should allow you to test at least some of the cycles your timer switch has
I have a general schematic in PDF for whirlpool for gas and electric,
but did not see an option to add an attachment to this message.
Hope this helps or point you in the right direction.

Sounds like an electronic problem on the timer circuit board.
SOURCE: Regarding Maytag Dishwasher, model # mdb4651aww3.
I have same problem with my Maytag. Had a repair guy come out and he said it's the 'controller card', not the button touchpanel. The controller card is $127 and not in stock and there's a 'several month wait'. I'm not going to wait, going to buy something used for less than the price of a new controller card. Maytag's quality has really deteriorated in the past few years. They used to have a 5yr warranty on pretty much everything - now it's only 1yr. (and of course, mine failed just a few weeks after the 1 yr time.

There are some things about the "Check Lint Screen" light you should know. It's a reminder light and doesn't actually check anything. When you select a cycle it should come on and stay on until the Start button is pressed, the door is open or after 5 minutes. If the Control Lock is not turned on then you may have to replace the console/interface to resolve this problem.
A hard reset is used to describe a reboot process. With the dryer stopped and the control turned off (if possible), unplug the dryer to completely disconnect electrical power. If it is difficult to reach the dryer outlet plug, you can shut off the breaker for the dryer to completely disconnect electrical power. Leave the electrical power completely disconnected for 5 minutes. This will sometimes reset a control board that is stuck due to a power surge or glitch encountered through the electrical lines. Plug the dryer back in to see if the control will operate properly. If the control does not reset and work normally after the hard reset, then you could have a stuck "touch up" button on the control. The image below describes a diagnostic test mode that can be entered to check the buttons on the control. If you are able to enter this mode, you can check to see if the "touch up" button is stuck. You may not be able to enter this mode with a stuck button, bad user interface control board or a failed machine control board. If the dryer will not go into this diagnostic test and the console will not respond to other cycle selections, then I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair the dryer. It is likely that the user interface control board will need to be replaced.
