My Vizio P502ui-b1e tv has no backlight and no picture. When I turn the tv on the white indicator light turns on then slowly fades off and nothing on the screen. I've tried the "flashlight" test to see if there was a picture and not being back lit but that was not the case. I replaced the power supply and that did not fix the issue either. All solutions welcome.

So how can I determine whether it's the led strips that are bad or maybe something that controls them?

SOURCE: No power. Possible power supply issue.

If the repairman guarantees that the problem is the power supply and will agree not to charge you if that is not the problem, then by all means go for it. Most TVs it is what is called the Power supply Unit, or PSU, and the part alone costs well over $100...

SOURCE: vizio glv47 powers up no then no picture

We have the same problem and purchased a power supply to see if it would fix the problem. It didn't. We are now in the process of buying the main logic board and we will let you know if this fixes the problem. It seems like it is in sleep mode but doing the steps to get the tv out of sleep mode does not work.

SOURCE: VIZIO GV42LHDTV Got TV after

Hi.

If the TV does not start with the new audio board, and if it does start with the old one, then the audio board that you recently purchased is defective.

About the board : 0500-0507-0230; that is the power board (PSU). If you could see the Vizio logo, that means that TV started, and that the power board was OK without need for testing. When the power board is defective, either the TV does not give any sign of life, or the TV goes in standby mode from start and does not wake up. In that case the led stays blinking to warn you that there is an incorrect voltage from PSU.

If the TV is freezing with Vizio logo, that means that at most the faulty part is the main board.

Also, you say that there is no backlight. No backlight means that the screen is completely dark. If there is no backlight you won't be able to see the logo or any other picture. If there is no backlight, then the problem is usually the inverter.

Here a brief article summarizing how to test PSU and inverter: How to test an LCD TV.

Here all parts for this model:GV42LHDTV.

Regard.

Ginko.

Visio TV screen not working - hear sound - white light turns on then fades off. Thoughts on troubleshooting?

Hi AJ, from what you are describing, it would seem that you have problems in the backlight LEDs of the LCD panel or in the source that feeds them, I do not think that the video plate is bad, but if the one of the source of the LEDs, what you call "Transformer"
I sent you the link on a video that shows the flaw in your TV model, which I commented
Also, the link of the service manual, where you can find the technical assistance number
I hope you have served my comments and information and that you can solve the problem
Greetings Franco Dosil

Saludos Franco Dosil

I have a Vizio p502ui-b1e that I believe was hit by lightning during a storm. The light at the bottom right comes on then flashes but there is no backlight and no picture. I'm not sure if my issues are the...

This is unfortunately a not uncommon problem that others have told me about and Vizio only advised them to buy another television.

Struck by lightning is highly unlikely.
