Get rid of the junky viper and get a bulldog rs82b and you will never have a problem...I have installed over 40 of these since November and NEVER had any problems....
You can find a copy of the manual at the link below or try this:
Open driver's door - leave it open (door trigger must be connected on the alarm).
Turn ignition key on.
Within 5 seconds, press the valet/programming button once and release.
Press valet/programming button again and hold it down.
With valet/programming button held down, you should hear the siren chirp within a few seconds. After the chirp, press the lock button on your new remote.
After pressing the remote's lock button, you should hear a short blast from the siren. Now release the valet/programming button.
If this is a Prestige alarm with a starter disable, turn ignition on, press and release valet switch. This manually disarms the alarm. If your vehicle does not have a starter disable, then your issue is mechanical with the vehicle itself. If your battery is fully charged, then you may want to check the crank fuse for the vehicle. If the fuses are all good, try starting the vehicle in a different gear, (R,N,D).
I have been having the same problem. I was searching for the solution and found your question. Yesterday I tried the last thing I could think of and it worked. I unplugged everything from the black module. I left it over night I was coming home from work and wouldn't be going out to my car anymore but 15-30 minutes should be fine. Once I plugged everything back in, I was able to get into a programming mode. I was trying to change the start time. Hope this helps!
unplug all harnesses going to unit for 5 min plug all harnesses back in and reprogram remote, you do not need to program for voltage sense, that is the factory defalt or call tech support at 1-800-878-8007
