Software and drivers are available from your local Philips website. Select 'Support' and then you should see the software search facility

How do i get a software upgrade for my tv

You will need a USB port or SD Card reader on the TV set in order to update the TV's Firmware. (note: some TV manufactures specify what types of memory are compatible with their TV sets i.e. magic gate, etc.)

Use the appropriate storage device for your TV set and go to:

http://www.support.philips.com/support/downloads.jsp?userLanguage=en&userCountry=us

Enter the model number in the search box. It will search for available software/firmware for your TV set. Download it and save it to your storage device.

Insert the storage device into the TV set. If the software/firmware update screen does not come up automatically, select update software/firmware from the TV's menu.

I hope this helps.

I have a Phillips LCD tv model #42PF7421D/37. and

I know on the plasma TV's it was a matter of updating or downloading and re-installing the firmware/software for the TV to fix the issue. Go to the following page and if the model you have is indeed a 42PF7421D/37 download the software on the page. Make sure you follow the installation instructions to update the software otherwise the set will become a 150 lb paper weight.

I turn on the gogear sa6045, the loading screan appears and shuts off at 35%.

Reset the player using the pinhole. If it freezes again, you need to update the firmware to resolve the issue permanently.

To update the firmware correctly:
Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager:
www.usasupport.philips.com - change your country/language as needed
Enter in your exact model #
Click on the link for your exact model #
Click on the Software & Drivers section
Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software"
Install the new Device Manager
Open and run the "Update" tab

Phillips 4GB

Get the firmware update from the philips website

Philips GoGear Firmware Upgrade
You need to get the latest firmware upgrade from the Philips website:
1. Go to www.philips.com/support
2. Enter your country/language
3. Enter your model # SA6045 or whatever
4. Click on the link for your exact model # (the one w/o the "B" in it)
5. Click on "Software & Drivers"
6. Download the updated "Device/Firmware Manager"
7. Once installed, open the Philips Device Manager
8. Click on the "Update" tab, then the "Update" button (with your mp3 player connected to the computer, of course)
9. Your Mp3 players firmware will update automatically
If you do not have the latest version of the Philips Device Manager installed (the latest is the version from the Philips website), then clicking the "Update" button will give you a false positive saying "The firmware on your device is already up to date."

Software update lcd tv

The Philips 32PFL5522D does support firmware upgrades.

Only the digital board can be updated by the user. This is done by downloading the firmware on to a memory card (CF) and inserting into a PCMCIA adaptor. This is then inserted into the CI slot at the back of the TV.

The main TV would have to be updated by a Philips service agent using a COMPAIR device.

However, I don't think the problem you describe is to do with firmware.

You could try altering the following settings:

  • Contrast - 65
  • Sharpness - 2
  • Contrast Plus - OFF
  • NR - ON
  • Colour - approx 50
If this doesn't help, then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty lead between the LCD panel and driver board. This is a common problem with this model, but should not be an expensive repair.
