I have a JVC DR-M100 DVD recorder that will not record but plays.
I have a JVC DR-M100 DVD recorder that has worked fine for 4 years. It now shows that it is recording but when finished, there is no recording on the DVD-R disk and the screen shows that ''there is a problem with the disk''. Also, after starting the recording, I cannot stop the recording with the remote ( such as when a commercial comes on ) and then start recording again. The recorder still plays DVD`s fine but will not record.

No! that should not be a factor, there are any number of reasons the VHS is not working, broken belt, idler assembly issues to name a few, I suggest a professional.
If it won't PLAY VHS tapes it must have a serious mechanical problem (if it even loads) or its heads are glommed up, so it obviously won't record them either. When's the last time you ran a cleaning tape through it?
Solve the load or playback problem and it will probably record.
Time and poor storage conditions are the mortal enemies of tapes. Store the in a 'played
Try opening the front hatch of the tape by pressing the small, square button on the right or left (short) side of the tape. Check the black tape inside for any marks, dirt, scratches, tears, etc. If the tape is fine then your unit needs to be cleaned with a tape cleaner available at any electronics specialty or retail store. Good luck to you!
this is due to the settings of your player.
you should have settings for SP ( Standard Play ) LP ( Long Play ) et,c.
the quality may differ slightly, but you need to refer to your user manual for how to adjust the recording times. also if your dvd supports DL ( dual layer disks ) this will obviously double the recording times.
The JVC DR-MV1S DVD Recorder / VCR Combo does not suppport DVD+R, only DVD-R, -RW etc.
At least mine only supports these formats, as when I first bought mine, I got some blank DVD's they were DVD+R.
I recorded a movie onto one on my PC, then tried playing it in the JVC unit... no go!
Instruction manual (available for D/load online) proved to me that I could not play +R disks!!
1 yıl önce JVC DR-MV5SAX MODEL , 062C0323 seri no'lu bir cihaz aldım. Kayıt anında 4-5 dakika sonra "RESETTING" diye mesaj veriyor ve cihaz kendisini kapatıyor. Ne yapmam gerekiyor. Alaettin Zengin 0 312 290 31 97 Ankara
try to clean your machine by playing a lens cleaner disc coz the lens might be dirt enough not to pick on data from the discs you play. if it does not work then isuggest you change the lens coz it might be weak
I have a JVC DR-MH50 DVD/HD recorder and it will only record on DVD-R or DVD-RW not DVD+R or +RW. so check your format of disk you are trying to record on it may be as simple as that.
