TI-83 at www.sitorg.org

We're a 501(c)(3) and our student trainees refurbish old PC's and donate them to the needy.

We received a TI-83 Plus that has "juice box damage" as a 'donation'.

Any chance we can salvage it and give it a good home?

My email is [email protected]

Thanks!

Looks like it's in good condition otherwise.

Doesn't have batteries and won't unless we can fix it. :-D

Had you left it in direct sunlight for a long period or perhaps in a very hot car? Sounds like the LCD is damaged.

SOURCE: TI-83 Plus Silver Edition 1.14

That means that you know your calc crashed. This can be caused by taking out the batteries durring running time, happened just randomly. Well nothing to fear just press clear and it should go away but if it stays on that screen you have problems and is best to try some of these methods. Take out all the bateries and press and hold the on button for 30 seconds. Put the batteries back in and it should have reset. Warning you should archive everything incase this happens. To archive go to 2nd mem and hit enter to put a astrick next to the app (meaning archived)

How to solve trig functions using ti-83 plus

Your best bet would be trying a math package on ti-calc.org - you can usually find something that does what you want there. You'll need a cable and the software to download these programs to your calculator. Here's a link to the trig section:

What is the different between ti-86 and ti-83

The 86 has more memory. It also has some advanced calculus capabilities the 83 doesn't. However you're much more likely to see examples for the 83 in textbooks and other references.

TI-83 Plus Silver Edition problem

These instructions are from education.ti.org, and worked for me.

1) Take out one of the AAA batteries
2) Hold down the CLEAR button
3) Put the AAA battery back in while still holding down the CLEAR button
4) Let go of the CLEAR button and turn the calculator ON
5) Press CLEAR to get rid of the error message.

Then you should be good! All the applications on my calculator were still intact, so despite the error message, the RAM was never actually cleared.
