I bought a toshiba 6100 it has wireless card but i cant seem to figure out how to change it to conect to my wireless broadband conection

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

Cannot conect to internet wireslay; used to be able, but now have to use cable attached to router

Good Day,

check the WEP, WPA, WPAPSK of your router and the SSID there's a chance that it was changed, so check the setting of your router and the wireless NIC in your laptop if it's still working.

Good luck.

Latitude X1 PC Notebook: I just used ny Dell Latitude X1 to add a new lapto...

If the other laptop can't see the network, then it sounds like you somehow turned off SSID broadcasting while you were in the router's settings. Log back into your router and look for the SSID broadcast enable setting. Make sure it is set to on, then save the changes and reset the router if you have to. The laptop should be able to see it now. (There is also a setting in the Windows wireless network properties that you can check to connect to a network even if it is not broadcasting, as long as you have connected to it previously.)

Hope that helps!
