Which way do I turn the nut that holds the blade in place, to undo and change the blade on my Billy Goat LM510A lawn mower?

The rule is to remove nut , Turn the nut the same direction as the blade turns when cutting grass. There idea was to get tighter as the blade pulls harder. Other wise it would keep coming loose when it hit tough grass. Not so much now but years back there was Right hand , Left hand and Rear discharge decks, that equaled left hand and right hand nuts on the blades.

Is the nut that holds the pulley on the mandrel lh or rh thread

Replaced mine yesterday
RH thread, so counter clockwise to remove,
There should be enough thread exposed for you to confirm that.
I find that the air impact wrench is a lot easier than by hand for removing these.

My tractor cuts uneven when i am cutting my yard

Check your blades common problem with uneven cut is a bent blade. Next find a level spot like a padio and take a torpedo level place it on the front center side to side not front to rear. On one side or the other you should see a J(jay) bolt with a nut tighten to raise losen to lower.

Replace blades on Mtd mower deck

no they are not left hand threads if nuts have molded washers you must use an impact gun. wash holds too much of blade surface and will not turn against it

How do I remove the spindle from the deck of a Craftsman mower.

Put your blade back on so you will have some backup on the nut. Wedge a piece of 2x4 between the blade and deck to hold the shaft while you take off the nut. You should do that before unbolting the spindle. If you are just replacing bearings, you don't have to unbolt the spindle at all. Just remove the pulley on top and the shaft with blade attached will slide out the bottom. The botton bearing, however, will be on the shaft and is difficult to get off. I use a bearing splitter to get it down far enough to drive off the shaft.
