Our Sandstrom American style fridge freezer is making a really loud vibrating noise from the back of the freezer area. We've had the fridge for 5 years-never made this sound before. What could it be?

SOURCE: Freezer defrost LG american style

Defrost the unit for two days with the doors open...I know you're going to lose your contents. You may have ice on the coils internally. Next make sure you've cleaned the external coils under the unit. Leaving liquids open inside the unit or setting it colder than required will both cause issues like the ones you've got. Also, be sure all air vents inside the unit are unblocked and the door closes tightly all around.

SOURCE: panel between fridge and freezer very hot and no sound at all

Dont know about the noise prob. but I can help with the over heating cabinet. Your condensing coil is dirty and needs cleaned. it is located under your refrigerator or behind the back panel. You should use a brush and vac. it out. Air must travel through the tubing freely in order to cool properly. It should be easy to find following the tubes coming out of your compressor.

My American style Swan fridge freezer is making a loud humming noise it gets cold and still functions but the noise is drilling into my skull any ideas what it could be

It could be as simple as a warped fan blade, or an impending compressor failure. Since the fridge is working well, it would be _worth_ having a tech look at it. Fixing it now (before it fails) could save you the cost of a new fridge. Worst case scenario... You pay the man for his time to tell you the compressor is doomed. (Ask what their minimum charge for diagnosis is, before selecting a repair tech).

GE profile fridge making loud humming noise

The door being open so long caused warm moist air to collect and freeze inside the unit.

Take everything out, unplug it and let it thaw out for an entire day. All the frost will thaw, and probably run water all over the place so put towels down.

When you plug it back it, it should work fine.

My fridge started getting really loud when it cycles on, and seems to have a vibration when running

If it ismaking a steady noise, the motor that runs the defrost timer may be making noise. I f the timer motor is making a loud noise, then you should replace the timer.Vibration noises are often caused by dishes or containers vibrate on a shelf inside.

Samsung american style fridge/freezer needs repairing

Spray a good quantity of WD-40 on the spindle of the fan motor where it enters the motor itself. This should get the fan working smoothly with no noise. This will probably solve the other problems, as the fan prevents various components from overheating and shutting down.
