Bunch of bologna. I should be able to bypass my lid on any machine. So sick of service people telling me what I can and can't fix. You are part of the problem not the process! These capitalist made machines are meant to cost us more than we need to pay. I don't have young kids and am working 3 jobs and cannot afford to "just replace " parts. Just want to wash my clothes before Monday!
Come on buy lid lock s/w put it in
SOURCE: Need to know how to
hello click this link to see the belt in a schematic view http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/partsdirect/showSubComp.pd?imageUrl=http%3a%2f%2fc.searspartsdirect.com%2flis_png%2fPLDM%2fM0603029-00008.png you would first remove the front panel giveing you acess to the motor and the easiest way is to actually turn off the lower nuts on the motor while lifting the motor with the pump removed and then you can slide the belt over the motor pulley and hook the tension pulley as well if you have any further questions message me back and please remember when our chat has fully concluded (dont rank yet) to rank how this opinion has helped I await your reply if you have any further questions Thanks Rick

This sounds like a board problem. Call for a technician.
Locate the switch by the lid and simply connect a wire between the two wires going to it to affect a bypass.
